Villas at Wilderness Lodge?

We are staying in a studio at VWL in May. Has anyone stayed in a studio? Is there a particular view or room you would ask for? There is just 2 adults no children.

Thanks a lot

Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa last fall. There really is no "bad" view in the whole complex. If your really picky try and stay off of the fifth floor (no view to little lobby) otherwise you WILL love this place!! Have a great trip!!!!

Shepley,

We JUST returned from a studio in the villas. We made 3 requests in advance and received 2 of them. We wanted non-smoking (got it), early check-in if possible (got it! 10 AM), and a room as close to the Lodge as possible (nope).

In fact... the room was literally as far away from the lodge as possible. It was fine...but... Man... those extra 200 steps after a day at Epcot seemed like 2000. Every cast member who came to our room (room service, maintenance, bag) ALL joked about the trek.

Welcome Back, Brumcg!! Hope to see a trip report soon!!!

We will be staying in a studio in May at Wilderness Lodge Villas. Are there any tips or suggestions you can give me, or any information (pros or cons) about the resort.

Of all our trips to WDW, we have never been to the Wilderness Lodge, so all that I know about it I've seen on the Travel Channel and on the web.

How is Roaring Fork?? Do they still offer the refillable mug?

Hope you had a great trip. Ya'll looked like you were having fun on the postcard you sent. Did the weather stay dry for you?

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Heather

Heather,

I'm really biased... I saw Wilderness Lodge for the first time in 1994 and loved it. It's amazing to me that I'll be staying there (well, in the Villas) basically every year that I want to.

We relaxed more this vacation, and it's the perfect resort for that. Lots of hidden places to sit and rock or play a game of checkers. We ended up eating at Artist Point twice - expensive but fantastic and Whispering Canyon twice - fun and enormous quantities.

The downside? Well, maybe the location. The remoteness that is so great can lead to some small transportation issues. We left our room at 9:00 for a 10:20 PS at Princess Storybook - figured we would have plenty of time. Between bad timing for the bus, the trip to Fort Wilderness, a little traffic, a horrific stroller line, etc... we made it to the door at... 10:20.

Roaring Forks is fine. They have GREAT cookies, nice sandwiches, and typical fast food stuff. They do the refillable mugs - a great deal as long as you use them! :)

We had rain for 1.5 days. We were in the MK one of those days - it just came down steady all day long - and had a great time because hardly anyone else was braving the parks.

If you have any other questions, let them rip. :D
