We have a trip planned in a month and have signed up for magical express. Our current flight gets in at 10:41 PM. This is driving me crazy and I now want to get there earlier. If I fly standby on an earlier morning flight, can I still use Magical Express? Will they still handle my luggage so I do not have to pick it up?

Has anyone done this?

If you get confirmed for the earlier flight,I would call the ME number right away and give them your new flight info so you could be accomodated.

You will be accomidated regardless. You are able to sign up for ME upon arriving at the airport. You just have to get your own luggage if you aren't signed up. The Unofficial guide has this as a tip for people who decide at the last minute to use ME.

You can still use it. Just attatch the luggage tags as you were going to if your flight was later. It will also have your luggage claim tag on it. When you check in for ME at the welcome center, they stick your copies of the luggage claim in your ME book. You are going to be fine no matter what time you go.

The same would be said for someone who missed their flight or who's flight got cancelled and combined with another....no need to call them and tell them this. Call and confirm all this, but I am certain of this.

You will be just fine. When you arrive you just check in and board the next bus, no need to call or worry. You really don't have a reserved seat on a bus before you check in so don't worry about getting there early.

Maybe I'm misreading your post but you can't sign up for DME at the airport, you have to have a reservation before you arrive. It's part of the agreement between DME adn the airport that started after DME had been in service for about a year.

I am sorry...that is what I read in the unofficial guide. It said that as long as you were a WDW guest, you could sign up for this at any time...even when you get to the airport. I should send them an email and tell that their information is incorrect. Sorry for misleading anyone..I am only going from what is in the book.

as long as you have your DME tags on the luggage, you will be fine....

As long as the tags are on your bags they will get to your resort, the bar code has all the information needed. It doesn't matter what flight your bags come in on, they will be pulled off and loaded on a truck and sent to your resort as long as the yellow tags are there.

Just a quick sidebar here. I emailed the Unofficial to let them know that thier information about showing up at the ME wlecome center without a reservation is incorrect. I don't know if they will update thier website or not. I am very sorry for posting wrong information.
