We are planning our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge. I have a couple of questions regarding transportation:

1. I understand a short boat ride is the best route to MK. How long does it take? How bad are the lines? (we are going in May 2003).

2. Is the Transporation Center right across the street from the Wilderness Lodge? Can we walk to it? Or do we have to take a bus to it?

3. Any other helpful hints about Wilderness Lodge (transportation or otherwise)?

I have learned soooooo much from this forum. You guys are Disney-genius!

I love the Wilderness Lodge! The boat is the most convenient way to get to the MK. Buses are available to go to all of the other theme parks and Downtown Disney.

The Transportation/ Ticket Center is quite a walk from the WL, and definately not convenient (since buses come right to the hotel).

We were there in Nov. 02 - never waited more than 10 minutes for a boat in either direction. No way can you walk - too dangerous, very busy with no sidewalks. My kids loved the boat rides. Only downside is once in a while you go to Fort Wilderness Camp ground which can add about 20 minutes to your ride. I'd say one way direct is about 10-15 minutes with a lovely breeze, very nice view, and very helpful crew (IMHO - MUCH nicer than the buses and bus drivers!!).
