Water Parks

We are planning a trip to WDW 6/1/02-6/5/02 and staying at the Polynesian. We were wondering what is the best water park to go to. I have a 10 year who just loves the water. It's been 5 long years since our last trip to WDW. :)

First of all, welcome to DisneyCentral, enjoy your stay. I would have to say, with a ten year old, Blizzard Beach would be your choice. It is mostly big water slides, perfect for older kids and adults who think they are still kids. Typhoon Lagoon is a bit different, in that they feature a big wave pool, a lazy river and some areas to snorkle. I believe they also have some water slides. River Country is closed for all of 2002, so that isn't even a choice.

Many of the resorts also feature water slides and great pools. Grand Floridian and Contemporary just installed new water slides at their pools, and the one at the Beach and Yacht Club is great, nearly as fun as the ones at the parks. I believe the Poly has a new slide as well at their pool.

Poly is a great choice, you will enjoy it. Don't forget to get breakfast at the Kona Cafe, it has some of the best food on property. Have a great trip.

ahhhhhh the water parks. Let me start out by saying my wife and I visited WDW for the 1st. time last year and were able to catch Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach. I loved the lagoon. Just a great feel and I think a 10 year old would love it. My wife and I couldnt stay out of the wave pool. Too much fun. Blizzard Beach does have bigger slides and it is quite nice but it just didnt hit me like the Lagoon.
We are heading to WDW in May and a for sure day is to the Lagoon with our 6 year old and the 18 year old. The boys will love it.
The Lagoon does have slides and they are quite fun. The snorkeling is fun too. Lots of fish in the tank even if you only get to swim through a short distance to see. You can always take another turn.
I found that the Blizzard Beach lines to the big slides were quite long. Enough to discourage me.
Bottom line....I think they are both alot of fun and worth the visit. Some of the best days we spent on our vacation was at the water parks.
Have fun.:)
