Standard room vs perferred at Disney All-Star Sports

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the standard room and perferred room at the Disney All-Star Sports resort. I am working with Susan at Dreams Unlimited to change my reservation over from CBR to the Gold Dream Makers package at the AS Sports resort and was told that the building I want touchdown is not a perferred building, but Surf's up is. This is a solo trip so, I kind of had my heart set on staying at the touchdown building, but if the Surf's up is nicer, that might change my mind.

Thanks,

Jason

I don't know anything about All-Star...but the Gold Plan is awesome! Looks like you are going all-out!

Hope you have a great time!

All All-Stars rooms are the same, it just the location of the room to either a pool view or to the food court. We stayed in a standard room and friends of ours stayed at a preferred room. That was the only difference. We liked being away from the pools and the walk from the bus stop wasn't bad at all. It might be if you have small kids after a long day in the parks.

Touchdown is our preferred :D We like the colors of Touchdown better, and it's a bit quieter (sometimes! :D) It's a blast to be on the inside of the court, overlooking the giant field.

Surf's up is just like the Touchdown - you pay extra for just the proximity. Check out a map - the Touchdown Buildings are also very close, and if that's what you want, that's what you should get.

Our first stay at ALL Stars, we paid the $10.00 extra per night for preferred, and haven't done it since. We stayed at Sports, and were in the Surfs Up area. We were so happy that we had a room overlooking the pool...until 1am came and kids were playing Marco Polo all night!! The rooms are all the same, you're just paying to be a little closer to the main pool and Food Court and Buses. If you don't mind a VERY short walk, then stay where you are and enjoy it there!!

Preferred rooms are $10.00 more. I do not like being in the first building the pool / food court is open till 1 AM and all the noise kept me and my family up. Next time I go I'm requesting the second building and the third floor away from all the noise and the foot traffic! :D
