Here I go again. Silver dream maker package question

Please go to the following post to see my final reservation set up:

http://www.disneycentral.com/forum/s...?threadid=3261

I know that everyone tells me that this site is made for people like me to ask questions when they come up, but I feel bad about asking so many.

With this in mind, I hope that you guys wont mind helping me again.

A package has come up where I can stay at a nicer resort (CBR vs AS Spt., but go with a smaller package silver vs gold.)

What I need to find out, is if I have to use the wishes for the tours in the silver package or do they come with it.

Thanks for any information that can be provided.

Jason

My understanding is that with the Silver package, anything you do requires the use of a choice. One other thing you should note is that many of the nicer restaurants require two choices in the Silver package.

Jason,
Give us some details and we'll be able to help some more. When are you going? Where and for how long are you planning to stay? I personally only book room only reservations. That way if discounts become available I can call back and have them applied. I don't think you can do that if you book a package... or at least I know you can't do it if you book throught the Walt Disney World Travel agency. We buy regular park hopper passes as we don't use the water parks. The resorts have really nice pools and we prefer to spend out time at the parks. We get at least one PS a day for a character meal or sit down restaruant and just pay out of pocket for it. I understand the draw of the packages is to not have to worry about the details but for us we make out less expensive doing it a la carte (room only, park hoppers, meals, etc). Have fun planning!

Dab, actually, you can make changes with package, it is just more difficult. With packages, there are penalties withing 60 days of arrival for cancellation, and sometimes, for changes. With room only, you can do anything up until 5 days prior to arrival.

Thanks for the clarification Mickey. We got a package once and couldn't make any changes but perhaps that was just going through WDW Travel Co. Not that WDW Travel Co. is a bad way to go... just didn't work out the way I would have hoped it would. Too bad Mouseketrips wasn't around then! :laugh

Silver Package

That's how I go all the time. You get two points per day per person. If you want to use if for a tour, you use your points. We use it for mostly food. We go to Coral Reef restaurant every year. We use two points per person for that one. We just eat a quick breakfast that morning to make up for it. The Silver package is plenty for us. We mostly use it for food. It's nice knowing that it's all paid for in advance. You don't tip, you don't worry about price, you don't pay taxes it's all included in the plan. We wouldn't go any other way!!!!!!!!:D :D
