polynesian or WL

We are going in Feb with our 2 and 3 year old? Which hotel do you recommed? Is it worth xtra $ for the monorail? Which is nicer? Are the boats easy to use from WL? We want to be able to take a break fro naps withour busses.
Thanks

Re: polynesian or WL

Both are great resorts! I loved the Poly and the Monorail! Especially with little kids! Now that my kids are older, we do not feel the extra $$ is worth it!

I think it depends on your finances! I would love to stay at the Poly again someday!

Also, the boats are great from the WL, but they take a long time to get around!

Re: polynesian or WL

go to the poly..... u just can't beat the convenience of the monorail. especially if you want to take naps or freshen up at your hotel during the day. and w/ a child even if the monorail is crowded, it moves quickly. the buses sometimes can be iffy.

Re: polynesian or WL

I have stayed at both with young children. I would pick the poly. The convience of the monorail is well worth the cost. The boat is nice, but it does not beat the monorail!

Which one has better rooms? I'm afraid my husband and I will be sitting quietly a lot while our kids sleep?

Re: polynesian or WL

They are both good rooms, but the Polynesian has a daybed where the WL dosen't.

Re: polynesian or WL

We have stayed at both and highly recommend the Polynesian. The conveyance of the monorail can't be beat. When we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge it was either the bus or the slow boat to the Magic Kingdom. On the way back to the Wilderness Lodge after a day at MK the boat was crowded and not a pleasant ride back. Polynesian!!!!

Re: polynesian or WL

Either is perfect. You are close to the MK at either place. The Polynesian is the easiest to get back to, but a lot more money. I think the WL will be just fine. The boat is tons of fun and may just be one more attraction for your little ones to enjoy.

Re: polynesian or WL

In Feb it should not be too crowded so the boats shouldn't be too bad. I have not stayed at the WL yet, but it is on our list to try, we always stop there just to soak up a bit of the ambiance. We did stay at the Poly last year in one of the new rooms and it was just about as nice as it gets. HOWEVER, it is a lot more money. I think I might be tempted to do the WL and save the Poly for a special treat when the kids get a bit older.

But that's just me!

ENJOY!

Re: polynesian or WL

The Poly is my fav. WL has the boat back and forth. Poly has the boat to GF & Poly, monorail and even the ferry back to TTC which is right next to Poly.

Re: polynesian or WL

ooooooo that is a HARD question! Both are beautiful resorts and I would probably sell my own grandmother to stay in one of them again! ( only kidding )
I think if money is no object then go for the Poly just due to the monorail convenience really, but if it's just a question of which one would be best I would prob go with WL. It is a little cheaper than the POLY and you could put the difference in $$ towards others things on your trip like meals, gift etc etc. Both are stunning though and I do not think you would be upset with either choice.

.......now where is my grannie?..............
