POR food court

Hi all

I know that the POR food court is going to be closed during the early part of next year. What we were wondering is since it's a buffet while it's closed will it count as a counter service or table service on the meal plan.

Re: POR food court

Why is it that I get so dang frustrated with inconveniences like this? I wonder if I did not spend so much time planning it all to a tee - would I still get so upset? I mean this is day 2 of closings found out and disappointment. Its just so frustrating!

Re: POR food court

Morning Everyone! The buffet will count as counter service. The catch is this is NOT an all you can eat buffet. You get one plate and you dont put the food on it yourself, CM's do it for you. You can have as much as you can fit and then you are finished. We are telling our managers that this is not a good idea as the word buffet seems to mean "all you care to eat" but so far this is what the plan is. It could DEF. change before January though. I"ll keep you posted.

I'm sorry you are hearing about so many things that bum you out all in a row. Just try to think about how much fun you're goign to have and how much joy it will give you to see your baby's first trip to the world!

I try to focus on the bright side -- I'd rather be a planner who finds out about the disappointments before the trip, and has time to adjust and make other plans, than a non-planner who doesn't find out until he's there and is totally caught off guard.

Re: POR food court

Thanks for the info. Hard to know what to call a buffet that is not self serve and not all you can eat. Guess we could start a thread called 'name the buffet that's not really a buffet at POR'

hahaha I know! We told them people are gonna freak out about this, but the opinions of CP's mean very little in the grand scheme of things!

Re: POR food court

Its not that Im unrealistic about things being cancelled or closed. Its just frustrating when you have it all figured out and then you figure out that you dont- I wish it were a bit of the opposite where I am pleasantly surprised by some change. Like an opening or promotion or something of the sort. I can "dream" cant I ?

Re: POR food court

Great- so we can pretend that we have all we can eat- with no characters and hope that the servings are not small.... perhaps a few changes are in order-
Actually what kills us the most is that we are supposed to eat lunch at POR the day we get off the boat before eating dinner at WCC- so its crazy early breakfast on the boat- nothing for lunch and dinner at wcc at 5pm? How am I supposed to manage that?
