Re: Boardwalk villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas
Oooo! That's a toughy. Both are beautiful. Wilderness Lodge gets you closer to MK. BW gets you closer to Epcot and MGM.
I'd say BW, just because the area is sooooo nice at night.

Re: Boardwalk villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas
Personally, although I just recently stayed in the Boardwalk Villas and found the area to be beautiful and appealing, I would choose the Wilderness Lodge Villas just for the simple fact of its proximity to the Magic Kingdom, the park I spend the most time in.

Re: Boardwalk villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas
We have had the 1-br at BWV, and it was heaven. Sorry I haven't seen the rooms at WL, but the resort is great.
But BWV has the most incredible pool, lots of stuff to do at night, you are surrounded by restaurants, the boat service to MGM and Epcot, Heck, walking out the International Gateway after fireworks and being 5 minutes form your door is reason enough!

Re: Boardwalk villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas
It would depend on your favorite park. As mentioned the BWVs are right there in the midst of the EPCOT resorts, very cool place to be if you are into MGM and EPCOT. On the other hand if you have little ones and are a big MK fan, the boat from the WLVs to MK can be really exciting for children of all ages.
Enjoy! -harry

Re: Boardwalk villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas
We've stayed in both and both are beautiful - it's a tough call. I guess which parks you spend most time in might be the deciding factor...

Re: Boardwalk villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas
I personally wasn't 100% sold on the Boardwalk Villas, they had serious transportation issues EVERY day we where there (for 9 days), and I felt like the counter service options at the resort were always out of options or just not open. I LOVED the convenience to walk to EPCOT & the boat transportation was AWESOME! It was GREAT atmosphere but the pool area clears out and closes REAL early, the buses are slow and packed (they share with the Swalphin & Beach Club), the laundry rooms are kinda old and crappy, & honestly we just didn't feel "at home" there. Which is ironic enough because we live on the Jersey Shore and basically live & breath boardwalk livin'.
Anyway, I would more likely choose the WL because of the convenient boat to the Magic Kingdom, the quiet & peaceful atmosphere, & the buses always seem quicker to me.

Re: Boardwalk villas or Wilderness Lodge Villas
Since we rent a car, transportation is not an issue for us. I would choose the Boardwalk because of its proximity to Epcot and MGM. You could take the boat to both of those parks. You really only need the bus for MK and AK, and if you have a car you can just drive to those parks. We were trying to choose between Boardwalk and Beach Club. We ended up choosing the Beach Club and can't wait to stay there in a week. Good luck making your choice.

You will love WL, the pool, the lobby, the location everything is beautiful at this resort. Try to get to Fort Wilderness, the kids will love the Chip & Dale camp fire, the petting zoo, etc. Rent the bikes from WL and enjoy the day taking in the excitement. |
