"Preferred guest"at Swan

Thanks for the info iluvwdw... so how do you get points? Do you get a certain amount of points for every dollar spent on your reservation at the resort? Does it only count dollars spent on your room, or does it include dollars spent at the resorts restaurants??
thanks for any info you can give.
We are staying at the Swan in Sept. for our wedding/homeymoon...so our families will also be staying there.
I have instructed my family to sign up for the preferred guest program also.
I'm wondering if since we are getting group room rates through Swans group sales, and they will have rooms blocked out for us, if we, or our guests would be eligible for the "preferred guest" upgrade.
They have already graciously upgraded the groom and I to either a junior suite or Club Level...we decided to go Club Level. Space does not mean much to us at Disney, we spend so little time in our room. I feel we would more enjoy the club levels lounge area for a quick breakfast or nibble during the day. Eating out breakfast every day gets costly and takes up precious time.

Hi, Reiko! Here is a little more info that will give you more clarity:

We have the AMEX Starwood Preferred Guest credit card. For every dollar you spend, you get a Star Point. If you stay at a Starwood Hotel and use your credit card, you get 3 points for every dollar spent...PLUS you get your regular points for showing your Preferred Guest card! Because as you know, you get points credited to your account whether you have the Starwood American Express card or not! So basically, for your stays at Starwood hotels, you will be getting 4 times the # of starpoints, which is a great deal! AND THERE ARE NO BLACKOUT DATES for using your points for free nights! And you get these points for every dollar you spend at the resort during your stay. You can also get points at restaurants at Starwood hotels you are NOT staying at! So if you guys wanted to go to the Dolphin for dinner, you just show your Starwood Preferred Guest card and you get points! It's a great travel club and I am so glad to be a part of it. I don't think anyone offers the flexibility that this club offers!

I hope I helped you. I'm sure you are looking forward to your trip! Oh wait...are you the one that's gettiing married, or is it a member of your family? If it's you CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

:D

Preferred starwood guest

So...all I have is the Starwood Preferred Guest card... not the AmEx....I get points on my SPG card by showing it at the restaurants, even though it is not a credit or AmEx card? They know to somehow put the points on it? Or I can only receive points on the AmEx card at the restaurants?
Sorry I'm getting confused... :dazed But I am hoping to get some use out of this SPG card! I really appreciate your help.

No worries...you don't need an AMEX STARWOOD credit card to get points. All you have to do is show your PREFERRED GUEST card when you check in. They will have your account number on file and you will get points for every dollar you spend at the resort...yes, even in the restaurants! Maybe you can have your whole family use your SPG number, so you get all the credit...I mean it is your wedding and all! Good luck...I hope you're still not confused! Either way, you get points credited to your account when you are a SPG.

Thanks for info...Yes, I'm hoping to get our block of rooms all on my SPG card, and the dinner from our wedding night with all the family.
Also hoping to use my NEW Disney Visa for these things!!
