Icon5 room request

I will be there in late January (pop century) and I am wondering when would be a good time to call the resort about a request for a ground floor room, if it is even possible. Just curious

Re: room request

I may be wrong but I don't think you can call or fax room requests any longer. I think they stopped this about a year ago. However, you can still have room requests noted on your reservation.

Yeah, that's been discussed here, and Mickey chimed in on it.

Room requests are a thing of the past.

Re: room request

i am going to wdw the jan. 8-12, and i "requested" a certain builing at the resort and a king sized bed. they are noted on my copy of my reservation...but these are only requests, and not gaurunteed. so call NOW, make your requests....but don't be surprisedwhen you get there if they can not honor those requests.

Re: room request

They've always been accomodating at the time of check-in, even noting that the computer did list my requests. You might not get exactly what you are looking for, but they've given us the pick of what is available at that time.

You are right. WDW no longer takes faxes etc for room requests. They must be noted on your reservation. You can ask at check in as well.

The last two times I've stayed in the 50's buildings. They were very nice.

Are they preferred rooms? We've booked standard.

At the POP, I find the best thing is to add to your reservation a room that is on the third floor and close to the buses. Then, at check in, you can negotiate with the CM. My experience at the POP is that unless there's a really long check-in line, they love spending time with you to get you exactly the right rooms.

Re: room request

Room Assignors do their thing around 3 days before you arrive, so make sure that your preferences (in order of importance) are noted on your reservation before you get there. When you are standing at the check in counter and don't like your assignment, they can only check for availability. It doesn't make a bit of difference how far in advance you make requests, only that they're noted before the Assignors pick your room a few days before you arrive. Good luck!
