animal kingdom lodge

Hello, I am new to the site. I have booked a room at akl for January and have read some problems with savannah views over looking some construction of the new villas. We are going to have a regular savannah view not the deluxe. Has anyone heard of problems with construction and what are the best rooms to try and request? Thanks for any advice

Re: animal kingdom lodge

Although I haven't been there since they started construction, I wouldn't worry about the view. Twice we were given rooms where the view wasn't as good as the first time we were there. So, I just politely requested the CM to move us to another room with a better view. Both times there was no problem at all. Seeing you are going in January, there shouldn't be a problem, as I would imagine seeing it's value season it won't be totally booked up.

I haven't heard anything about construction obstructing the good savannah room views. I agree with beth above me, if you get into your room and it's really not what you expected talk to someone at the front desk. They are really nice there, and it is an AMAZING resort! It's my absolute favorite, I don't think you will disapointed with anything.

Re: animal kingdom lodge

January is such a slow time - it shouldn't be a problem to change rooms if you're not happy with the view (but I'm sure it'll be fine).

And welcome to Mousebuzz!

Re: animal kingdom lodge

Just returned from a 6 night stay at AKL about a week before Christmas, never saw any construction. Don't worry, Disney will take care of you! Be sure to go out to Arusha Rock during a feeding time, the animals are so incredibly close, it was truely amazing. Each day feeding was a bit different, just ask any of the staff and they can give details as to when the feeding times are going to be for that day!
