WDW web site & reservations

Hi,

Made reservations on Tuesday for the Food & Wine in Oct. Daughter and son in law are coming too, so we have 2 rooms and 2 reservations.

Made them on Wednesday for my summer conference. Again 2 rooms for the us and the kids.

The ones for Oct won't show up on line. I've entered the info many times and I even called back to reconfirm, and they have all the right info, and Disney Co has the reservations, so I'm not concerned---but is this a common problem.

As for the summer conference, one of the reservations shows up and the I received an e-mail about the other which I could print out, but it won't show up on line??

Any thoughts. Or just run with it. As I mentioned, I checked all the reservations to reconfirm, and they are there. it's just annoying not to find them on line.

Thanks.

Frank

Re: WDW web site & reservations

I've had this problem in the past, particularly with two pending reservations.

Disney's IT department isn't as spick and span as the parks. I suspect it's because CM's don't get paid competitively.

Ask them to mail confirmations to you... I bet they would be happy to do it!

Does it ever resolve?? Or do you just ignore it?

>>Ask them to mail confirmations to you... I bet they would be happy to do it!<<

Actually, I did on both.

Re: WDW web site & reservations

I have had this happen a couple of times. I don't know why it happens but anyway--- I always call and confirm, and then ask for paper confirmation as well. AND I always always call WDW the day before we arrive just to make sure that everything is still in order! :)

Re: WDW web site & reservations

---I have never had a problem with reservations, but I had a friend that arrived at the Poly one time, (they always and only stayed at the Poly every trip for some reason) and the Poly did not have a reservation for them. Period. No record of it at all. It was in the main system that she had put a deposit down, the dates etc, but the Poly did not have it and there was no room for them. They were put up at the then Disney Inn (now called Shades of Green) and were very disappointed.

Re: WDW web site & reservations

Lately none of my reservations have showed up online. I have no idea why, but we have never had a problem at check-in. I ALLWAYS remember to bring the letter I get from WDW with all my reservation info. I feel much safer that way :)

Shades of Green hasn't been Disney Inn since perhaps 1995.

Re: WDW web site & reservations

Bring your final copy of your reservation from disney showing everything paid in full. After paying off a trip I always ask for it to be sent to me. Take that with you to check in. I always have it with me just in case. You never know what could happen and why should you be stressed out over a mistake that isn't yours? If WDW is saying that the reservation is there and you have a mailed confirmation, then don't even stress it for a minute. Just take it with you. Again, take proof of payment in full when you arrive if that is the case. I know you have the option to pay at check in with some reservations. Anyone can make a mistake and I would hate for you to get to check in and them saying you owe something you don't and you having no proof of it. I had this happen with a meal I paid for in advance and didn't know that they didn't have me paying until after the meal. I paid twice and had no proof on me of payment. Needless to say, I was ticked.

Re: WDW web site & reservations

Oh no this was not recently, but since since it happened, I have made a point to double check. Actually, I do that for any hotel reservation and plane reservation I make. I check back a couple of times just to make sure!

And yes the Disney Inn has been "gone" for a longgggg time. It just wasn't utilized that much but as Shades of Green, has been very successful for military families. :)

Easter Sunday around '95, we had 2pm reservations at Cape May. We returned from MGM around 12:30pm, and my daughter who was 15 at the time and I both noticed no activity at the restauran. We thought it strange since dinner was to be in 90 minutes. A CM was at the podium there so I asked. He laughed and said dinner wasn't being served until 5:30. I gave him my reservation number which showed we did indeed have a reservation at 2pm at Cape May for Easter Sunday dinner. Not sure how many others had "early" reservations, but we showed up at 5:30 as per the Manager. Someone wasn't informed and the CM didn't want to seat us. I told him who we talked to. The manager showed up about 2 minutes later. We were seated and comped the entire dinner. We left a nice tip <g>.
