40% off room rates

I received an email today from walt disney world with 40%off room rates during off-season.I was told by the booking person at disney that it was 56 dollars per night for Aug 21 time period.Does anyone know if Disney gets hit often in hurricane season?

It's unusual for them to gt hit because they'r so far inland. But it has happened before. In fact, they got hit pretty hard several times in a row...2005 was it?

Yes, I think it was. I do think they have revised their hurricane policy too since then.

Actually,it was 2004 that Florida was hit with 4 hurricanes in 6 weeks. I remember that because I almost had to cancel my Night of Joy trip.

Like Ddoll said, Disney is farther inland and it is unusual for them to be hit, but not impossible. We think about the possibility when we go during those times too, but they do have a new hurricane policy for your peace of mind. That is a great deal!

By the way, my DHs family is from St. Johns. I have never been there myself, but would love to go one day. I here its beautiful. My inlaws go back every year.

Welcome to MouseBuzz. I visit WDW every August and have never had a problem with hurricanes. Even the year when they had several in a row on Disney property, it looked like nothing had happened.

I couldnt believe it at first but I have called and booked at pop for around 1000$ canadian for two weeks,even cheaper for those of you using the American dollar.I am thinking about calling back and rebooking at a moderate but we spend most of our time in the parks so I'm not sure if it's worth it..
