The swan or dolphin
Hi everyone, This is my families 1st trip to disney! We are leaving april 30th and will arrive in orlando at 7:30 pm:) My boys are 11 and 14 so we have decided last minute to go to disney before my oldest gets to high school. We are staying at the swan we got a great deal(I think
)on club level for $222.50. My ? is which hotel will be better for us? We are staying till the 11th of may and want this to be the best trip ever:!: Money was a big part of this trip thats why we picked the swan. I just want to make sure I made the right choice by picking the swan over the dolphin. Any input would be appreciated because it isn't to late to switch if I choose. Also where is the best place to get ultimate hopper passes? I am a AAA member but was wondering if there are better deals out there. Any other helpful hints or tips would also be nice seeing a s most of you are experts in my eyes:D lol. Thanx Patti |

I don't think there is much difference between the two. The Swan is about half the size of the Dolphin, and that would be my choice. The Swan has also just been totally redone, so it should be nice.
As far as passes, I don't think you can buy the Ultimates until you arrive, or have them added on to your reservation. I don't think AAA or anyone else sells them at all, since they have to be linked with your reservation. As an alternative for those dates, here are the prices for some of the Disney resorts: Wilerness Lodge woods view: $154 Animal Kingdom Lodge water view: $195 Polynesian garden view: $244 Oh, and welcome to DisneyCentral.

I've stayed at both and for 8 years attended a conference hosted at them. I found little difference between them, I liked the decor of the swan a little better, but not enough to choose one over the other. I think the Dolphin had more food choices, but am not certain on that one. The Coppa Banana was one of my favorite little bar areas.
Along with the Yacht and Beach Club and the Boardwalk, both of the resorts you mention are situated right between EPCOT and MGM and that area is our families favorite place to stay. We are very partial to the Yacht Club and will be buying into the DVC at either the Beach Club or Boardwalk as soon as I sell my old Corvette. Keep in mind that the Swan and Dolphin are both big time convention hotels which means, depending on the convention going on, the crowds in the lobbies can sometimes be less then child friendly, however at the age of your crew it should not be a problem. I am sure you will have a great time whichever you choose. Enjoy! -harry
