Slight med. question

Okay here s my deal.
I'vebeen on this mousebuzz thing for a while, and I love it. I've had my vacation planned for 8 months. All payed for the whole thing!!!HIPHIPHURRAY
Anyway the 5th of feb I was told that I have breast cancer. The next monday I had both breasts removed. I MAY be starting chemo before our March 31st trip; but they may wait until I get back. Here is the question, are there wheel chairs to rent there or something like that. I really do get tired fast and I want to keep up.
I have a great attitude and I feel good, no crying here. I just need to know what my options are at the resorts and the parks.
Plus there is NO WAY i'm not going!!! Mickey can perk up the whole family!!!!!!!!!! Thanks

Re: Slight med. question

Hi MyVaction. I'm so sorry for everything you've been going through this month. That is a LOT to take in a very short time. You sound so positive which I'm sure helps make the battle a little more bearable. I'm sending up some hugs and pixie dust to you right now.

To answer your question, you can rent WC's and ECV's in the parks, but it is on a first come basis. I know when I checked in to it before, they have many companies in Orlando that will bring one to your hotel room and you keep it for the week. It was at least half (if not more) less than renting one at the parks. And you will be able to use it at the resort and between the busses, etc. If you get the kind that collapses easily, maybe that would make traveling on the busses easier.

You're definatley correct, Mickey does a world of healing.

Re: Slight med. question

In May I rented an ECV with a SUN CANOPY to protect me from the sun (I have Lupus) for the entire week from an outside company. Email Aatourist@aol.com. (They have a website too-just search for AA Tourist in Orlando, FL) They will beat the price of any competitor by 10%. I found a place that rented them for $150/wk., so they beat the price and I added the sun canopy for a total of $160 for the week. It was waiting for me at my resort in bell services when I got there. I returned it at bell services when I left. It was completely awesome-had a basket on the front, was almost brand new and plenty of space at your feet to store cooler w/ drinks, etc. You can wait in line in almost every ride que while sitting-you can't beat that!! Don't risk renting one at the park when they may already be taken by someone else. Good luck w/ your recovery-my mother-in-law is a 16 yr. survivor w/ a double mascectomy too!

Here are some more companies from the disney site-check prices, find the cheapest then contact AATourist for a good rate. I initially found them on the disney site.

AA Tourist Rentals offers “stay-cool canopies” (800-941-4662, 407-767-9651) orlandoscooterrentals.com, ScootAround, Inc (888-441-7575) scootaround.com offer rentals. Wheelchairs, electric scooters and medical equipment can be rented from CARE Medical Equipment (800-741-2282, 407-856-2273) caremedicalequipment.com or Walker Medical and Mobility Products (888-SCOOTER, 407-518-6000) walkermobility.com. Scoot Arama (877-RENTECV, 877-736-8328) scootarama.com offers mobility scooter rentals from $25 per day and includes a canopy, basket and free delivery. Travel Rite (407-210-3868), travelritescooters.com, provides small, light mobility scooters for rental and purchase.
