magical express

How has the magical express been going for everyone? I'll be going during a really busy time but this express thing sounds like a good thing.

Re: magical express

We've used ME twice and both times had very good luck with it. We were at our resort in a little over an hour one time and less than an hour the second time. Luggage wasn't a problem either.

Re: magical express

We used ME for the first time in Jan. and didn't have any problems. DH loved not having to hassle with the rental car.

Re: magical express

My experience was LESS than magical due to wait and GRUMPY driver.

ME is Meers Transportation contracted to Disney.

I use Quicksilver personally or rent.

We used it twice, and had two totally different experiences. One great, one pretty bad. It is a free service though.

Well I'm gonna try it, if it is bad I won't ever do it again. I like to start my vacation on a good note.

Re: magical express

We've used it twice and had very good experiences. One suggestion I have is that if your flight arrives late in the afternoon or in the evening, you should go ahead and claim your luggage. We went in December 2005 and both mine and my friends luggage wasn't delivered to our room until about 2am. We had been out to Jelly Rolls, so it wasn't like we were asleep when they brought it. We will be claiming our luggage this trip as well since my friends don't land until 11pm. It's always been a pleasant start to the trip and it being free makes it even better. More money to spend on food!

The first time we used it we waited over six hours for our luggage. The next time, we "forgot" to put the yellow tags on our luggage and carried them ourselves. We had no problem. The only thing to consider is what time you arrive at MCO. Later in the evening, they tend to use one bus for numerous resorts instead of one destiniation. I will probably be using it again to save money instead of a car service.

Re: magical express

I'm pretty excited for this feature! It's like starting the magic of Disney as soon as you get off the plane. I will say that since it's Mears that does the driving, it doesn't surprise me that the customer service isn't always up to Disney standards. But, it is included with your package and like anything else that's new, kinks still need to be worked out I'm sure. We're planning to take a flight that lands at around 11am or noon EST so hopefully having to wait for luggage won't be a prob since we'll just head to the parks as soon as we get checked in anyway. If, because we're arriving before normal check in time, our room isn't ready, will they store our luggage and then bring it to the room when it is ready? I'd hate for our luggage to be in limbo so to say!

Re: magical express

Yes, they will hold your luggage for you and deliver it when your room is ready. It will probably take a few hours for them to even get it to the resort. It is very likely that they won't get it until after check-in time, so they won't have to store it for you. Hope this helps and that you have a most 'magical' experience.
