Fort Wilderness question

If I were to purchase a trailer or Rv would I be able to use it at FW and pay only for the rental site?
If so will I still be able to make a package out of this and get dining?

Re: Fort Wilderness question

I've never stayed at FW but I'm sure you can get a package that includes dining. I'm sure you'll have to add a base ticket like any other resort.

Re: Fort Wilderness question

My friends just came back from staying at Ft Wilderness and they had a package that include tickets and dining. It is just like any other resort.

Re: Fort Wilderness question

What time of year are you going? I can't imagine camping in Florida during the hot summer months.

You can make packages you just can't get free dining if they offer!

I'm the wrong person to give advice here--I'm seriously allergic to camping. Tent, trailer, RV, it's all the same to me.

Re: Fort Wilderness question

Ive been to FW about 7 times, always in a tent and in July and August. Its hot, but we were away from the site during the hottest parts. Heres the skinny as I remember..

1) You can get the dining plan as per any other resort.
2) The campsites (tent and trailer) will not secure the free dining if offered.
3) I think that FW is the BEST overall themed resort, you could spend a few days there without going to the parks. Im not saying its the grandest resort, but offeres the most escape.
4) Its expensive, but you can rent a cabin there. Its as deluxe as a 1 bedroom villa, and has a lot of privacy.

here is a long FAQ. WDW - Fort Wilderness FAQ

and a ton of great pics....

Thanks for the info. As of right now Im looking into buying a popup so I think that all we would need to pay for is the site with electric and water right?

Re: Fort Wilderness question

Yes. As a full-time RVer and frequent resident of FW I've got lots of info. If you bring a pop-up you only need a partial hook-up sight with electric and water. You will not need sewer.

FW is the most amazing and beautiful camp ground we have ever stayed in. Trust me, we have stayed at hundreds of camp grounds and this one is by far the nicest. I don't say that just because of my obsession, it has everything you could ever need and more.

Prices are the cheapest on property and the transportation is really pretty good. You can purchase a package deal with this resort that includes tix and dining.

As far as camping goes, I don't consider what we do camping. I live in an RV that has all the luxuries of our home. I have every creatur comfort I could ever need.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
