Icon5 Has anyone done a stroller swap before?

I know people do things like the fridge and that ,but has anyone done it with strollers ? It seems like a great idea really ,if you have a stroller that you only need for the trip and don't care to lug the thing home.

If someone provided a double stroller and everyone put something in for it and then we all just turned it in at the end of the trip to the next renter ( people staying at the resort your checking outof would be easiest).

I was just curious if anyone has done this and how its worked out for them ?

Re: Has anyone done a stroller swap before?

I saw this on another board and it seemed like a great idea but then again I have had ideas and they are not so great after all!

If we could get a stroller set up at each resort that would be nice. when it gets worn out it could be donated . then the process starts over or something. I am sure it would last a while how hard can one be on it at a park. the turn in policy would be that it should be clean and in usable condition for the next family. I think 10-15$ a family per week. rent it out to 10-15 familes its paid for!

Just my 2cents

Re: Has anyone done a stroller swap before?

Definately makes sense to me. I don't know how you would have one at each resort or how it would be stored, but it would be easier than taking one from home I suppose. I am past the stroller stage (no way am I pushing my 13 year old bigger than me DD in a stroller unless she pays me)..lol have to see what the others think.

Re: Has anyone done a stroller swap before?

Not exactly the same but a couple of years ago I passed our stroller off to another family on our last night. We didn't need it and they looked like they could use one. It was just a cheap umbrella stroller I picked up for the trip so it wasn't like I was giving a lot of money away.

Well you would not store it it would just keep going to the next family that is renting it.

i guess if it came down to no one having a week there then it could always go to another resort family . thenthere is no storage for it.

I guess not many of you have done this no one has said how it worked for them . get one of those BIG flags for bikes and put MB on it!!

Re: Has anyone done a stroller swap before?

You are probally best off just getting a cheapo stroller and dumping it before you leave. It's probally cheaper then renting the WDW everyday and probally also has more storage and comfort. Again, this is not something I would be interested in cause I am SO outta that stage forever, so maybe someone else on here with children would be interested. I like the MB flag thingy..lol

Re: Has anyone done a stroller swap before?

I never heard of this before. It seems like it would be a lot of trouble....what if there is more than one family at a time that wants to use it? I don't think logistically it would work out. I am the kind of person who likes my own things and I don't even like renting the WDW strollers because gross thoughts go through my head......

Maybe I am just feeling too lazy today to figure this all out.

I feel the same...

It's a good idea, but I wouldn't want to be the one with the stroller after an "accident" -- If you know what I mean....

I feel more comfortable with my own.

I know exactly what you mean!

I read in someone's TR that they overheard someone telling a CM at the stroller return that their child had an accident in the stroller and it needed to be cleaned. The CM just pushed it into the return area and ignored them. After I heard that it sealed the deal for me about renting the strollers.

Re: Has anyone done a stroller swap before?

and this is why I LOVE you ladies!

i DID just learn that for 40 bucks at most stroller rental places (MGM for certain) you can buy a very nice- actually- red and black stroller.... it's small and compact- folds easily and totally worth 40 bucks.
If we were only using it for Brendan I would have done that in a heartbeat.
We ended up getting a stroller on the days that Kevin had to be out from 8am til midnight-
I wiped that thing down with my wipes- then let him go to town!

(They are SO eary to steer!)

but that buy idea for 40 bucks is really cool-
