Re: Best Moderate Hotel

I've only stayed at two of them so far CB and CS and I would have to vote for the Coronado Springs. I loved the theme, the grounds were beautiful, my children loved the pools, the bus stops were convenient and the food was pretty good, too. It's a very large resort but I didn't mind any of the walking.

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

We love Port Orleans Riverside. Great pools, excellent restaurant-Boatwrights, and nice Disney feel to the whole resort.

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

This seems to be a popular discussion lately...glad to hear the moderates are getting more "play". I have only stayed at POFQ, so my favorite is that..lol Seriously, when I went to choose which moderate to stay at, I picked that one hands down. I love my stay there, so I picked right.

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

We have stayed at CBR and POR. I really liked them both. But my kids liked the poola t POR better. It is called Old Man Island and it has a neat waterslide.

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

We have stayed at POFQ and CS and POFQ won for us, hands down. A very intimate moderate, neat pool, great theming. CS was nice, but way too spread out and too convention oriented.

My in-laws have stayed at CB and really liked it, but it is very, very loud (very kid friendly place).

Good luck!

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

my favorite so far was POFQ- the pool the food the rooms - its so far my favorite moderate-

As for my favorite resort for the money- it would be Pop- hands down. It was just as good and although the pool was not as great, we spend so little time in the pool that it did not matter.

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

I think you need to really think about CS. Remember it is a convention center. Lots of people going to meeting and alot of those people smoking. I know that would not be a place for me and my kids.

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

We love POR so much for a billion reasons, and we always get an Alligator Bayou room (request Building #14, #15 or #18). Do a search on Port Orleans Riverside (you will find the search option at the top of the page!).
We have also stayed at CBR, where we had excellent rooms in the Jamaica section (Building 45). The Aruba section is also in a great location (Building 51).
While at POR, you have privileges at POFQ as well, so we have visited there often. It is really a fun atmosphere for the kids and adults. All three of these resorts have great pools with slides.

Not all convention people smoke....there are smokers at every resort and not more at CSR. It's about the same everywhere. Smoking in only allowed in designated areas anyway, so I can't even see how this is an issue.

Re: Best Moderate Hotel

The only thing about CS is it is a convention hotel. That brings in a lot of adults--adults who are not necessarily thinking kid friendly. I.e., adults who might not be drinking in moderation because they are away from their families for the weekend, etc.

I don't know that to be a problem, but....
