Cbr
My best friend and her family are going down to WDW and staying at CBR. I've only stayed at the Poly so I can't give her any advice. Can someone suggest some great tips for staying at CBR? Thanks!!!

Re: Cbr
Tell her to try to get the trinidad north building or martinique (sp?). They are pretty close to the main areas. I think jamaica is a nice choice too. The resorts are what you make of them. This one is pretty big, but with proper planning and knowledge of that before she goes, it should be a nonissue. Just have her look at the resort map and call reservations and have the section she would like to stay in noted on her reservation. the entire loop at CBR takes no more than 20minutes...they have buses that run every 20minutes, so she shouldn't have a problem getting one.

All the times my family has stayed their we loved it!! I think it is a very nice resort but like everyone said it is HUGE. I would definately recommend it and I would stay their again anytime. I'm sure they will have a fantastic time no matter what.

Re: Cbr
Jamaica is definitely the best island! It's a really pretty yellow. It's an easy walk from Old Port Royale (the main area) but far enough away that you don't get the hustle and bustle of OPR. I ADORE this resort!!!!

We stay in Aruba in '96 - I remember how much fun the pool was and we took those little speed boats out in the water...

Re: Cbr
If they stay in Jamaica, on most of the bus loops you are the first ones on the bus (and off), so you have your pick of seats. But then the bus loops around the resort. If they stay in Trinidad North than they are the last stop to get picked up (and dropped off) and the bus goes right to the parks after that stop.
There is also an internal bus (because the resort is so big) that will take you to the Custom House (which houses Guest Services and Check In/Out, etc) or to Old Port Royale (Food Court, Main pool, etc). The thing I liked best about CBR was that each "island" had their own pool, so at night it was nice to be able to swim with no crowds!

Re: Cbr
We stayed in the Jamaica 45 building both times we were there and love the fact it is the first ( or second ) stop for all buses except AK. The location is great because you are a short walk across this bridge to the food court and main pool. I definitly think it is worth the extra couple of bucks for a water room, the views are quite nice. And finally the food court is excellent, the main resturant had great service but so-so steak.

Re: Cbr
We absolutely love CBR!!! We've stayed in Trinidad S., very far from OPR and the last on the bus route. Stayed in Jamaica 41 building and was perfect, short walk to OPR, main pool, quiet pool around the corner. Last time stayed in Trinidad N. and was the best stay ever, had a courtyard ground floor room and only a minute walk to OPR.
She will check in at the Guest House which is seperate from OPR and the islands but can be reached by the internal bus if need be. They have golf type carts to bring guests to their rooms, along with luggage if you do not have a car. All islands have a quiet pool, laundry facilities (by the pools), beach, hammocks and playgrounds. Trinidad S. and Barbados are the farthest from OPR. Martinique and Trinidad N. are on either side of OPR and are considered preferred rooms, but ask for an upgrade upon arrival. Also have her request a ground floor room as there are not many stairways and you could loop all the way around a building to get to your room on the second floor. OPR has two gift shops, one with all you need and one with beach type wear and things. The foodcourt has several stations to choose from, Shutter's restaurant and a grab and pay type store with pre-made items, fruits, drinks, bagels, danishes etc. On our last trip, there were CM's making towel animals which were free for the taking. There is also a game room too. The main pool is a lot of fun for the kids with the cannons and slide. The adults can enjoy a drink at the pool side bar. You can get to OPR by walking or internal bus if you do not have a car. There is Parot Cay Island that the kids love to roam around on as you walk from Aruba and Jaimaca to OPR. It is a beautiful resort and you can see some of Illuminations and Fantasmic at night. We normally rent a car but the resort is very close to EPCOT, MGM, TL, DTD and BW. She will love the resort. Yes it is a HUGE resort but once you get your bearings, it is great! The kids will love the ducks and chasing the lizards too. Kept DS amused while we got ready to head to the parks.

Re: Cbr
Jamaica is our favorite!
The pool is great... Don't believe what you hear about the buses... we never noticed any big inconvenience about bus stops. Beware: they rent those giant bicycles for 6 people, and the route around the water is WAY long, and kids never help pedal... they just let their legs dangle. I was beat!!! LOL

Re: Cbr
It is a beautiful resort. We've stayed there twice and had a great time both times. The only thing to be aware of is that there are no elevators here, so if anyone has a problem with stairs, request a room on the first floor
