For those of you that have been...
I have a dilema. A friend and I are planning on a only girl trip in October. We have stayed in POFQ before and really liked it. My friend really liked SSR and would like to consider going to that one. My dilema is: Is SSR worth staying in over Port Orleans French Quarter. What are the differences that would make us stay at one over the other. We will be going to the parks and taking a day to just hang out.A relaxing weekend is what we have in mind. A weekend to relax, get away from kids ,having some down time, ect. Thanks alot!!

I have never been to ssr but I will say that out of all the resorts we have been to we loved the POFQ the best- and this was even more than AKL

I would try SSR. I have been looking at the pictures over at Allears, and it looks like a great resort.

SSR is a Vacation Club resort, so you'll find studio apartments and one and two bedroom apartments with kitchens. Do you really want to cook?

Re: For those of you that have been...
We stayed at POR and went to SSR for a massage and lunch. SSR is huge. I believe I saw resort transportation, meaning there was a bus to take you from place to place around the resort. I didn't think the grounds were nearly as nice as POR/POFQ.
The pool at SSR is very nice. No shade to be found though. It's Disney, though, you'll have fun where ever you are!

If it's a "girl's" vacation I'd go with POFQ. It's just smaller and easier to get around. SSR is a beautiful resort - and the transportation is very good - fastest I've ever experienced - but you may not get a room close to the lobby or the Marketplace. A lot of SSR is pretty remote.

I would also go to POFQ for a girl's weekend to relax. It's small and everything is really close together. You are only a step or two away from the pool bar....ahhhh..lol plus there is always that boat to DTD....girls can party at PI!
