Tomorrow...
THE POR FOOD COURT RE-OPENS!
yeaaa! I can honestly say I have been much more of a FQ fan, but after seeing the new food court today, POR is the stand-out of the moderate resorts! (IMHO, of course!  ) The new shops are beautiful, very brightly lit and the menu is WONDERFUL! I would strongly suggest eating a breakfast and a dinner here if you are staying at POR OR FQ anytime soon! |

You know what? I actually think this may just have been the final nudge to sway us to change our plans from POFQ to POR! We were really going to POFQ only because of the water slide, the buildings at POR are more appealing to us, & now this news of the foodcourt being so improved just sounds great.

I'll post pictures soon I promise! Anyway, here is an overview of the menu: Breakfast: the usual egg, bacon, sausage platter deal waffles pancakes Cereal Bar with hot and cold cereal, fresh fruit and toppings Yogert bar with much of the same Breakfast Sandwich not alot of changes here! LUNCH/DINNER: -Burgers, Chicken Tenders, Grilled Chicken Sandwiches and fish strips -Pizza -Create your own Pasta (Choose from Penne, Spaghetti, Fetticchini (SP?) then choose Alfredo, Marinara or Basil Pesto, and finally choose from about 20 toppings no extra charges, take as many as you'd like!! AND choose from chicken or shrimp) Then, watch as a chef sautees the mix you selected over an open fire skillet! -Beef 'n' Blue sandwich : hot sandwich--flank steak with sauteed onions and chunks of blue cheese (mmmm!!) -Muffeletta Sandwich: ham, salami, provolone cheese, and olive spread on cheddar faccocia bread -Turkey Club sandwich: turkey, swiss, lettuce, tomatoe, onion, aeoli also on cheddar faccocia bread *the above three come with chips or pasta salad -A few soup choices each day -Wonderful create your own salad: choose your type of lettuce, pick from about 30 toppings (again, NO NO NO extra charges here, take all of em!) then choose from chicken or steak-- also five types of dressing-- I would reccomend the Sesame Mandrin Orange its yumM! From Five On: Freshly sliced turkey or flank steak with your choice of two sides and corn bread I think the biggest thing that is different here is the fact that so many of the cullinary staff are involved. It almost feels like Boma where everything is being cooked in front of you--Something that doesnt happen often in counterservice locations! - |
