Nervous about POP

Due to circumstances beyond my control I have had to postpone DH and my Key West trip. I have instead planned to surprise my DD with a trip to Disney. We have always stayed at Old Key West and loved it, but this time my DH wanted to go somewhere different. He has heard good things about Pop Century, as have I. This is where he decided he wanted to stay. He thinks DD (5) will love it, so I gave in. Now I am extremely nervous about it. In my mind the rooms are going to be too small and worn. Please help me ease my fears about this resort choice.

As for the worries about the POP being too small and worn, I have yet to stay there, we are staying the first night of our May trip, So I cannot speak to the size of the rooms, but I highly doubt the rooms will be worn. This is Disney we are talking about! Most of the people here rave about the POP! I am sure you will be very happy!

I had a friend just get back from POP and LOVED it....to sleep, shower and shave...and a swim she said it served it's purpose and saved her a ton of money. She said her kids loved the decor too. She travels all of the time and has a lot to compare too and raved about it! I don't think you have anything to worry about. Have fun...I would sleep in an outhouse as long as I was at WDW

POP is great! I've stayed there the past 2 times I've gone and will be saying there again in May! I believe it's the newest resort hotel so it's not worn at all......the rooms are about the size of a Holiday Inn, but you got to remember, you're not there to hang out in your room, right?

The rooms are going to be a bit on the small side as compared to OKW, but I highly doubt they are going to be worn. The place is still fairly new and WDW keeps everything in top condition. I can understand your worry becasue I would be worried too...it's hard picking a resort that you are unsure of. I think you guys are going to be just fine. You are going to be in WDW so unless you are forced to pop a tent in the courtyard, any room will be perfect.

we are staying at pop in october! not worried, but that's mainly because we won't be there much more than sleeping and showering! I think you'll be fine!

You should have no fear! We stayed one night in Aug, and it was fine. The room is a little small, but should work out ok. My friend just booked 2 weeks at the Pop for Aug of this year. She stays there every trip and loves it.

nicatene, I have to tell you that I don't remember seing such glowing reviews for any WDW resort! POP has more fans than any of the others, it seems to me. Do a MB search on POP, and you will see what I mean... everyone loves it! I can't think of a single comment that has ever been posted that is negative about POP!

I say have confidence in the resort!!! You'll have a blast.

Nikki- We are staying at Pop in Sept and I am a bit nervous too. But I think DS (3) will love it, and this trip is more for him than us. Also any of the room pics I have seen look clean and new. I found this web site on another board, it has some great pictures of Pop. Looking at these pictures really helps to ease my mind and helps me get more excited about Pop, so I will link them.
The grounds look clean and well maintained, but there are no room photos. I am sure you will have a great trip no matter where you stay.

the pop is one of the newer resorts so you should not be concerned about the whole worn thing. As for quality of hte resort, I have stayed at POFQ,POR,AKL,POP,CBR and the only one that I personally felt was worth the money spent was POP as its a fun place for the kids. There is plenty to look at and the rooms everywhere at Disney are on the small side to me. I loved saving the money and spending it elsewhere!

POP is great!
We have stayed there 4 times and we love love love it!

Now--it is NOT going to be as big as OKW..but as long as you know that ahead of time..you'll be fine.
Some things about POP that I love:
The pools!
The food court/gift shop are so big and clean and lots of fun.
The 80's area is my favorite as a kid of the 80's..your DD will LOVE the icons in any section.
The CM's do "the hustle" everytime the song comes on..it's lots of fun to watch.

Here are some things that aren't SO great about POP..but they are bareable:
The walls are a little thin..meaning..you can hear the toilet above you flush if you are in the bathroom..it's not that bad though.
The lines for the buses back from the park can be sort of long..espcially at closing time! My advice to you, if you're going to close down a park wait as LONG as you can before going to the bus to let the line die down.

That being said..I have stayed at AKL, POR, and POP and I would stay there again in a heart beat! It's a great place. And honestly..I never feel more at Disney than I do when I stay there!

2 be honest. I have never stayed at the POP but heard it was awsome. i have stayed at movies before and LOVED it. I hope u dont worry as per everything will be fine and u will be in DISNEY!!!!

Don't be nervous!! As everyone else said - the rooms WILL be smaller, but they aren't worn in the least. The whole resort looks very new, and very nice.

We love it.
