How early can you check in if...?

...you're not picky at all?

Okay maybe I should rephrase that question. I'm wondering what's the earliest in the day you think someone could snag a room at a Value resort if they didn't have any special requests?

Thoughts or experiences?

Its luck of the draw. I have been able to check in as early as 10am and have had to wait until 4pm for a room. Just depends on how busy the resort is, how many people are checking out and how many people are checking in....it's all luck. I will say that I have only had to wait twice out of 7 trips with my DD.

In my hypothetical (always hypothetical with me, of course

) I am looking at arriving in Orlando around 10 AM so I was hoping that by the time we got to the resort we would be able to get a room. If not, no big deal but it was just a thought.

You really shouldn't have any issue if you are planning on going during value season...honestly.

Thanks, that's good to hear! I am looking at both value and regular season; I guess we will just see which one works out best for us. And like I said, if we can't get a room right away it won't be a big deal. It's one of those "if it doesn't happen, we're prepared. If it does, it's a nice perk!" kind of things.

The last few trips we have gotten to the hotel (values and during value season) about 10:30 or so and was able to get a room right away.

It's always seemed VERY random to me. There have been times we got there at 9-10am and they gave us a room!! Then there have been other times they made us take a card and call from a house phone after 3pm to see when our room would be ready. It probably has a lot to do with occupancy, which day of the week it is, etc... but it probably wouldn't HURT to say at check-in; "Are there any rooms available in our category (preferred, standard, etc) right now that we could take?" Making sure to tell them you are not picky at all about location, etc.

If there are no rooms avail., they will hold your luggage so you can either go o the pool or a park. A lot of times when people check out late, that holds up rooms for the maids (what is todays job title?) to clean up.

Kim, this is how it works---
If a room has been standing empty the night before, you can check in as early as you arrive.
If a room needs to be cleaned... remember that guests don't have to check out until 10 am. Some even asked for late check out.
Check in is never guaranteed before 3pm

I'll just ditto what everyone else has said here!
However...we often arrive as early as 12 o'clock and our room has been ready every time!

You can check in as early as possible on the day of your arrival but your room is not promised to be ready until 3 or 4 p.m. So check in and store your luggage if you're not using ME and go where you want and come back at 4 p.m. and your room should be ready. If it's not ask what Disney will do for you, like a free upgrade!!!
