Everyone Please Respond - Help!!!
Okay - going to Polynesian May 12-19 - I have a daughter with a heart defect where her walking is restricted. What I need to know is the best building to stay in that is not too far from volcano pool, ceremonial house and monorail - is this possible to be close to all three?? If not, what is the best longhouse to stay in that is pretty close to volcano pool??? First time staying here and very unaware of layout and even looking at all the maps - CONFUSED!! Please help - this whole vacation is a surprise for my girls and the Polynesian stay is a surprise for DH. Must be non-smoking too..........thanks for your input!

Re: Everyone Please Respond - Help!!!
Hi,
When we stayed at the Polynesian, several years ago, we were in Aetearora (sp?) it was pretty close, but looking at the map, Tonga would be closer. I would call WDW reservations tomorrow, and explain to them exactly what you told us (and the reasons) it will be noted on your reservation. Good luck, and have a magical trip!

Re: Everyone Please Respond - Help!!!
I found my map. Tonga and Niue are the closest to the Ceremonial House, next is Samoa which is right next to the Volcano Pool. Rarotonga is also in this area, but might be a little farther and the building is much bigger/longer end to end. Samoa might be your best bet, but talk with a CM at Poly itself, not just central reservations, to be sure.

Re: Everyone Please Respond - Help!!!
We stayed at the Rarotonga long house, which is right next door to the GCH, non-smoking, and very close to the volcano pool. I would definitely call the resort directly, advise them about your daughter's condition, and see if they accomodate you. Have fun. The Polynesian is a great resort.

You should really check out tikiman's site: tikiman2001
Niue looks like it might be the most convenient but I think it might be a smoking longhouse. We stayed at Rarotango. It is the closest to the monorail and the bus stops, a non-smoking longhouse and not too far from the volcano pool.

Re: Everyone Please Respond - Help!!!
The longhouse that is the closest to the GCH is Rarotonga. Niue is also right outside the doors but it is all smoking rooms. Tonga are concierge suites only. I would not suggest Aotearoa, Tuvalu, Rapa Nui or Tahiti but even if you do get these longhouses the walk from the farthest longhouse to the GCH is less than 5 minutes at a normal pace. You can request a longhouse but there is no way to guarantee you will be assigned a room in it. Samoa, Rarotonga, Fiji and Tokelau would all be good choices to be close to the pools and GCH.

Re: Everyone Please Respond - Help!!!
We stayed in Samoa, and found it to be absolutely PERFECT. It is right between both pools, just around the corner from the Great Ceremonial House, and on the path that goes straight to the monorail. It is also completely non-smoking.
I would HIGHLY recommend Samoa! ![]()
