Need more ideas to fill out the itinerary

Itinerary so far (with PSs where noted) - me, wife, 2.5 DS, 6.5 DS

Wednesday - fly in - rental car to Wilderness Lodge - Have no PS for dinner, hoping to just "walk in" to Whispering Canyon Cafe. Anyone think that will be a problem?

Thursday - Magic Kingdom - no Cinderella breakfast - although lunch was open at 1:30 - passed for now - prob just eat junk food

Friday - AKL - 8:30 Brontosaurus breakfast

Saturday - Pool at the lodge and 5:00 Hoop-De-Doo Dinner (thought we would try to stay out of the theme parks on the weekend)

Sunday - open - maybe a water park? Maybe Downtown Disney or Boardwalk for Dinner

Monday - Epcot - 12:00 Lunch at the Coral Reef/Living Seas - I could set any time I wanted - they were wide open.

Tuesday - 10:45 Breakfast at Chef Mickey's in Contemporary - pool? or waterpark. Maybe park hop Magic Kingdom and MGM. Dinner somewhere. Any suggestions - Would like to try a decent restaurant at another resort?

Wednesday - fly out as the money supply has ended

Have you ever rented the Water Mouse boats? You can rent them at the Fort Wilderness boat dock. Last year I rented one for a half hour ($20). My wife didn't want to drive so I rode each kid around for 15 minutes each. On the far side of the lake you can get reaaly close to Space Mountain. It really neat to see the world from the steering wheel of a tiny boat.

rlander, good idea. We rented a pontoon boat, and it was great. Somthing like $60 for an hour and a half (plenty of time).

Here are my suggestions:

1. Wednesday - Make a PS for Whispering Canyon, it won't hurt.

2. Friday - after AK, head over to AKL and eat at Boma. Even if you don't eat, just go over to walk around and check out the resort.

3. Sunday - eat somewhere on the boardwalk. Spoodles, Flying Fish or even just the Pizza window at Spoodles. It is a great place to hang around at night.

4. Tuesday - Have you considered eating at Artist's Point in the WL? Outside of that, you could try the Brown Derby in MGM, Cape May Cafe or Yachtsman in the Beach/Yacht Club or one of the Boardwalk restaurants if you don't make it there on Sunday.

5. Have a great trip!

ohiotoolman,
You can never have too many PS! Most don't require a deposit and if you change your mind at the last minute and decide not to go, there is nothing to lose. However, if you don't get a PS, you may not have nearly as good a chance of seeing the characters. We actually showed about 30 minutes late for one and we still got priority seating. The CM's are very accommodating! The characters can be seen throughout the parks but they each have a "handler" who works with a stop watch (and others who work as bodyguards) and closely monitors how much time each character spends out -- usually ten minutes. That's really not much time especially as quickly as the lines form around the characters. And you could spend the majority of your time waiting to speak to characters rather than hitting the rides or whatever! It's really nice to sit, relax, eat and let the characters come to you!

We had a really great time at the breakfast (mostly princesses the day we were there) with our granddaughter at the Grand Floridian. Mary Poppins and Alice (in Wonderland) were there and had long involved conversations with our girl -- about the same age as yours. Then after our PS dinner the same night, as we exited the restaurant, folks were lining up along the street for the light parade. When Mary Poppins came by on her float, she leaned down from her chair and spoke to my granddaughter. She said, "I remember you from breakfast." When Alice came by, she stroked her hair (my granddaughter has long blonde hair just like Alice's and they talked about how to brush it!) and said, "Remember!" After so many discussions with characters, on the last day of our trip we were headed toward MK on the boat. An empty boat was headed toward us. Pluto was on the top deck -- ears waving in the wind. My granddaughter jumped-up to the front of the boat and said, "That's Pluto! He knows me!" (Not that she knew him!) :p Now that's magic!!!

One of our kids favorite breakfasts was at Restaurantasaurus! You'll love it -- and be sure to take advantage of leaving by the back door! :bandit

Hollywood and Vine is also great! Goofy asked our granddaughter to dance with him. His shoes were as long as she was tall! He was quite the dancer!

I would strongly recommend renting a pontoon boat for the evening fireworks display. The boat holds 21 passengers -- we only had 6! We caught our boat at the Contemporary then returned there for a dinner PS at 9:30. The pontoon boat cost $120 and was a great deal. It's covered over the back half -- but if it truly rains, the fireworks are canceled anyway. Great tour by boat that you can't get anywhere else. Babies can sleep and your daughter should be old enough to really enjoy!

Enjoy your Disney magic! :)

The water mice is a great way to go. If you plan on staying for Illuminations you have to get PS at Alfredo's, it's awesome. The character breakfast at Grand Floridian is great and not hard to get in without PS. If your 2 year old is not the timid type, Cirque du Soleil is spectacular and my kids fav (7, 4 & 4). The California Grill at the Conteporary has wonderful food and the best views of all WDW. Or another thing that's fun for kids is the luau at the Polynesian. But any thing you plan on doing you won't regret!!!

For Thursday, since you're going to be in MK, why not try Crystal Palace for a meal? You've got Pooh & Pals there, it's a buffet with a separate kids buffet, & I've enjoyed it everytime I've gone. And as far as dinner at another resort, Cape May at Beach/Yacht Club is one of our favorites. It also has a separate kids buffet with hot dogs & mac & cheese. But I like the seafood bar & dessert bar the best!!!

Definitely. I've never been there at a time of the year when it wasn't crowded. We've even had PSs & had to wait 15-20 minutes! It's well worth it, though! I ALWAYS get a kiss from Tigger!

Awwwe, did you really get a kiss from Tigger? That is so sweet  I'm jealous ;) :D

This isn't anything to do with food, but if you have kids and want to do something different at MK, you could always get their hair cut. I know, it sounds really strange :laugh but seriously, we got dd haircut there, and it was great. She was sprinkled with pixie dust and got a lot of Mickey stickers, and the cut looked really cute and was very inexpensive. About the same as we pay for here. Anyway, just a thought...I'll try to think of something else that is different :)

Definitely get PS's for Crystal Palace. The only time I was ever there was the first time I ever went to Disney World...with my DH (he was my boyfriend at the time)! Last year, we went and tried to get in there for lunch OR dinner and we couldn't get in ALL DAY LONG! We had our 7 month old with us and I thought he would get a kick out of it, since he liked Pooh so much...but we didn't make PS's! Now I know better! When we go in August, he'll be 22 months and you better believe I will make PS's so we can go!
