Grocery Store, MILK question?

Hi guys. Thanks again for all the input on which resort to stay in. I have a question about grocery store. We were not planning on getting a rental car, so if we dont will there be a place on property to buy milk, like a large carton, not a small one? I have 4 yr old twins, so I was going to try and feed my kids breakfast before we left the resort in the mornings.

Thanks again!
Mandy

Re: Grocery Store, MILK question?

I really don't know for absolutley sure but I am 80% certain that I have only ever seen small cartons of milk at the resort grocery stores. I wish I could be 100% for you. Sorry x

Re: Grocery Store, MILK question?

The most recent resort I've stayed in is the POP Century and I can recall seeing at least the half gallon milk cartons. I am almost positive that they also had the gallon size. I was surprised by what they stocked because my son needed soy milk and to my great surprise they had it!! Disney always comes through

Re: Grocery Store, MILK question?

when we went in 1996, my kids were smaller and it would not have paid for us to eat at the food court each morning. I remember I took a box of cereal, bag of disposable bowls and spoons, then lots of snacks, pop tarts, hostess cakes, etc. This got us started for the day. We rented the refrigerator and bought milk and kept in it. I also took tang powder with us, bought some bottled water at the "grocery store" at All Star Sports and made that for breakfast drink too.

One morning we did do a character breakfast, and another we did to the food court for a change.

Buy it at the gift shop, not the food court and it will be a larger size and less expensive. If you are on the dining plan, you can also get it with a snack credit. I always order a delivery from gardengrocer.com and get milk, breakfast items, and cases of water delivered right to my room. You may want to consider that, too.

Re: Grocery Store, MILK question?

I think over recent time, all of the resort convinience stores have become more convinient. That is, they are carrying larger sizes of food stuffs and, surprise, alcohol. This is especially true at DVC resorts.

Re: Grocery Store, MILK question?

Go to gardengrocer.com and order groceries. They will deliver them to your resort for a $10 flat fee. I used them in october and was completely satisfied.

Re: Grocery Store, MILK question?

I just checked out that gardengrocer.com

their prices aren't that bad either. That is a great option, especially for a family going and not renting a car.
