Value or Moderate

Hi,
Ok, DH and I took the kids to disney last year. We stayed at French Quarters. My kids loved it! Bascially we woke up went to the parks and came back and slept. We used the pool maybe twice in 8 days.
I'm taking the kids back to disney this year. My 2 oldest want to go to back to French Quarters. Dh and I are going through a divorce, so finances are going to be tight (we could afford french quarters but i dont know if i want to spend that much).
Is there is a big difference between French quarters and an All star? My kids are little (7,5, 3) and they never complain about accomdations.
If i stay at an All star, it would save me around $500.
What would you guys do? If you say all star....what one?
Thanks
Toni

Re: Value or Moderate

Hi tonypotts--Lately there have been a lot of threads about that very same subject. It seems that when staying at Disney all is good with the world. Your munchkins are young, I think they will enjoy the All Stars.

Re: Value or Moderate

I have stayed in both Moderate and Value resorts and quite frankly, for the amount of time you spend in the room, I truly believe the Value resort should be the way for you to go. I, too, am going through a divorce but that is not stopping me from taking my children to the Happiest Place on Earth this August. I would, though, suggest the POP Century Resort. I've stayed at the ASMovies and would definitely prefer POP over the AS. The theme is a lot of fun, it's newer, and my children never get tired of it (we'll be going for the 4th time this August ).

Good Luck

Re: Value or Moderate

Hi Tonipotts- I also recommend Pop Century. For the ages of your children, it would be great! Just an FYI- the value resort pools don't have slides. For my kids, that seems to be the only downside to the value resorts.

Re: Value or Moderate

I vote for a value also. (We like Pop.) Save the $500. Like dopey said, "when staying at Disney, all is good with the world." You'll enjoy it and you won't have to give another thought to the finances.

Re: Value or Moderate

The beds are the same size. They will probably enjoy POP even more than the POFQ. I have found that the kids like staying anywhere NEAR Disney as long as they are going when at that age. My kids wouldn't care if they slept in the car. The room is all about me. I use the Deluxe resorts because they use queen beds instead of twins, otherwise, I would be staying at the values myself.

Re: Value or Moderate

Given the circumstances I would stay at the value resorts and save the money. I haven't stayed there but I'm sure your kids will love the resort and you get a great savings. Have fun and I hope things work out for you.

Tonyksl- what resort has twin beds? I have never seen twin beds at any of the mods or Pop. My kids could never share a twin bed!

They are from Mars so it is understandable that you might have trouble occasionally

Re: Value or Moderate

Definetly go with the value resort! You really aren't at your hotel much when in Disney! Save the $500 to spend on miscellaneous while you are there!
