recent trip rumors

Hi,

Just spent the weekend at Disney. Bus driver was chatting on the way to the MK from the Epcot resorts and mentioned that Pleasure Island "may/is" going to be moved to the Boardwalk.

Is this old news?? Has anyone heard anything about this??

I too was stunned. This lady seemed to know loads about lots of things at Disney. We chatted about restaurants, resorts, DVC's, etc, etc. Then she dropped this bomb. I couldn't believe my ears!! She seemed very serious, not at all like she was just pulling my leg.

I haven't heard this, but a few things come to mind.

1. Why move it, unless you have something to replace the current location.
2. Is there enough parking around the Boardwalk area? The lot at Downtown Disney usually looks packed.

I can't imagine how they would be able to do this, since there are so many kids at those resorts on the bay. Oh, I hope this is not going to happen! That is our favorite spot in all of WDW, that walk around the bay, and I would hate to see any changes there!

Why move it when you can just add to the boardwalk and have two options. Disney is not that stupid....I think the lady just likes to talk far to much.

I won't comment on who said what. Disney is doing a major renovation to PI even as we discuss here. They killed the West End stage and the lame nightly "New Year's" countdown and the classic rock band. They've also been doing changes in the clubs at PI, so it's not going to be closing any time soon.

Doesn't seem to make any sense - where would people park?

And there would sure to be complaints about noise from the guests at the Boardwalk and Y&BC.

This rumor should be allowed to die on the vine but I want to get my post count up. This will never happen. I do know they are re-vamping the current PI due to all types of problems in the resent past and the need to get it back to being more family friendly. That all I have heard..smjj

Well, I am too young to party at PI, but I really don't see why they would move it. I also really hope that they don't. Pleasure Island would totally destroy the calming, somewhat peaceful nature of the Boardwalk. Besides, there's already Atlantic City Dance Hall. I think PI would take away from AD's admissions.

Just know that most false rumors originate with WDW bus drivers. PI is not moving anytime soon and that is info from inside Disney.
