Need some quick opinions: CSR or SSR for a first-timer?

Hi guys. You know one of my favorite resorts is CSR and that I'm not at all enamored with SSR, but with a first-timer, do I go with CSR or SSR (studio)?

My thinking is, SSR is a bit more impressive and we can walk to DTD for meals, entertainment, etc. But SSR still looks like a condo development to me and CSR just has a bit more ambiance and vibrancy--true disney spirit.

Just two adults and we'll have a rental car (ain't stayin nowhere near SSR without one).

Whaddya think?

I haven't stayed stayed at either resort, but if I had to pick one it would be the CSR. I love the theme and it sounds like a terrific resort.

I've never stayed at either so I won't vote. But, I will say that I'm not a fan of CSR. It feels too much like a convention center and not a Disney-magical place. I've never seen SSR. Sorry, I'm not much help.

You definately need theming for a first timer so I vote CSR.

I loved the SSR! I didn't have a rental car either.

Hey B, I am glad to see you here I've missed you!! I am going to have to go with CSR; it's would provide MUCH more Disney theming & lots of options as far as dining & transportation. Closer to the parks and that is a pretty awesome pool. It's not a secret that I am not to keen on SSR but if I was taking someone for the first time I'd definately do CSR.

I'd save the extra money that you'd spend at SSR and stay at CSR. You can go out to eat more, more shopping, etc etc.

Yes, I like this line of thinking. More food, more shopping. Excellent point Cossy!

Re: Need some quick opinions: CSR or SSR for a first-timer?

Well, you can rent points and stay in a SSR studio for cheaper than you'd pay to stay at a Moderate! I have never stayed at CSR nor have I visited it, but it does look nice!

When you say you can walk to DTD if you're staying at SSR, not entirely true if you're in the back section of the resort like I was. You can't even walk to the main house from the back of the Paddock or Carousel sections! I had to take my car. And forget walking to DTD...WAY too long of a walk from where we were! Just know, the resort is SO huge and so spread out. It was nice, though. Would I stay there again? Definitely not my first choice, but yeah, I would.

You must have been near us, we were in the very back of the resort, in the Paddock next to the new bus stop. We walked to DtD and the main building but it was a hike. We should have asked for a section closer to the main areas but I wanted play it by ear and see where we ended up.

bali, I feel like if you love CSR so much, then your guest will feel that love and that will make a lot of magic for them during the visit! Heck, I can feel how much you love it, and I am not even checking in with you! LOL!!!
