how do I know how long it will take from place to place???

Ok is there a place to find out how to get say from Animal Kingdom to GF? or from POR to GF? etc etc

I want to make sure I am not spending more time riding around then I have to!

Going from resort to resort using WDW transportation can and will take up to an hour or more. You are really best off with a taxi. It's faster and worth the $14 or so dollars to get where you need to be in 15minutes or less.

Unless you are going from a resort on the Monorail line to a resort on the Monorail line or some of the other resorts connected by boat..travel times can get extensive. I like Dana's suggestion about taking a taxi to save time:)

how much is a taxi for 2 adults and 4 kids usually?? Anyone have a idea?

Same as it would cost for 2 people. You aren't charged for the number of people you have. A cab with 4 people cost me the same as it did for two people. A cab from resort to resort will run you about $14 give or take. No more than $16. They have large vans/cabs at every resort. If you don't see one out in front, the desk will call one for you. No worries about that. I actually used it just for me and my DD cause it was the only cab out there....the guy didn't care who he took or how many people there was..lol I just think with the little ones, it may be just a bit making them be patient while you take multiple modes of transportation to get to the dinner and then expect them to be patient through a meal...heck I can't even do it..lol
