Early Check In Question...

We've usually arrived earlier than Check in time, around 1pm or so, and our room has been ready. What happens if you go to check in early, and the rooms aren't ready yet? Do they activate your key anyways, and just tell you to check back at the room later to see if it's done? or do you have to go back to the front desk area again?

We are driving, so we won't need to drop off our luggage or anything like that. I'm hoping to get in around noon or 1pm on a Sunday(in June), so not sure how great my luck will be.

They'll give you your resort id/room key but not tell you the room number. You can call the front desk from any house phone later that day to get your room number. The resort id/room key they gave you earlier will work in the door.

Early Arrival

Two years ago, we arrived at noon and our room wasn't ready until 3 pm. As stated above, we were given room keys and told to telephone later to find out our room number. We were exhausted from the travel and just wanted to unpack, relax and take a nap, but we had to stroll around the resort and ended up going to the restaurant to eat something. Just to waste time. Since then, I always plan to arrive mid afternoon. Since I always drive, this is easy to do. This may be more difficult if you fly however.

Thanks guys! We'll be driving up, so it won't be too bad. We can play around w/what time we arrive. I just hate getting there after 2pm, because the lines at check in are HORRIBLE (at all stars anyways). Twice I"ve waited in line to check in for at least an hour:nooo: But the last time I got there early (about noon or 1pm) the line was VERY short! I'll have to see what everyone going thinks about this. Thanks again!

We always take the earliest flight out of NY so we have the whole day at WDW. We check in when we arrive, get our keys and then call for room numnber later int the day. It works out great. :)

I am faxing in a request a few days before we head down to try and get an early check in.
Hope it works. In our situation we'd like to get setteled and get our little guy a nap in the early afternoon.

last year we arrived at the AKL at 6:am ..and we were in our room by 7:30 am .. I think thats a nice early check in !!! It all really depends on the room being available when you get there no matter what time you get there. We drive too havent flown in years. So we always check in first thing in the morning have them store our bags get our passes and hit the parks :)

In regards to the long lines at check in, they start around 2pm? Our check in day is a saturday, does that make any difference? worse or better? Shoot, we are driving and I don't think we can make it there before 2 because we are leaving at like 2 am as it is. (my dh and dad will take turns driving) I hope it's not too bad when we get there.:nervous
