Boardwalk Villas

We just made our reservations at Boardwalk for this November. We've never stayed there before and I'd like any info on this resort. We're getting a 2 bedroom with a preferred view. What is the preferred view? What are the rooms like? We've been members since 1993. We've always stayed at OKW, which is our home resort. Thought we'd like a change this time. Any info would be appreciated!

Hi, Jane and Welcome!

I have stayed at the BoardWalk Inn on two different occasions. Once with a standard view that overlooked manacured gardens (and Epcot) and once with a perferred view that overlooked the BoardWalk and Crescent Lake.

I think that the villa preferred view is a water view...which could mean Crescent Lake, or the waterway to the Disney Studios or the pool. I'm sure that Mickey could give you more information.

The BoardWalk resort area is awesome. I highly recommend it! You just can't beat walking to Epcot and the Disney Studios. Plus, there are so many terrific places to eat...all within walking distance. It is a lovely, homey, comfortable and fun resort.

the Boardwalk Villas are awesome! i have stayed in both old key west and boardwalk. And bowardwalk is still my favorite.
many things to do at night there after the parks close.
walking distance to epcot which you cant beat! Great restaurants and great atmosphere. Although we always ask for a view that is away from the boardwalk due to me being a light sleeping and need absolutely no noise outside to get to sleep.
so keep that in mind. Rooms right on the boardwalk can be a bit noisy! but always clean and mousekeeping is great.
the water and the lights make for a romantic walk back home from epcot at night! great place for families and people without the kids! (like us)
so have a great time!

Welcome to DisneyCentral. We have stayed in the Boardwalk Villas, and it was very nice. The rooms are beautiful, and the location is great. The rooms are a bit smaller than at OKW (our home resort) but not too much that you will really notice.

The preferred view is either of the Boardwalk or of the pool areas. We were right on the boardwalk, and I didn't notice the noise unless the door to the balcony was open. My one suggestion would be to ask for a room near the elevator, unless you want to be on the boardwalk, in which case, you won't be anywhere near the elevator. But nothing is worse than being a mile from the elevators and have a pool view that is the same as it is right be the elevator.

You'll like the Boardwalk since there is so much going on in such a short distance:

Epcot is a short walk. Disney Studio's a short boat ride.

Preferred view is usually of the lake, or pool.

Great restaurants everywhere. Flying Fish, Spoodles...or a short walk over to Beach Club for Cape May Cafe. Looking for a decent casual lunch? Try Beaches 'N Cream at Beach Club.

Great night life. If you can get away from the kids try Jelly Rolls, which is a nice piano bar. Or, for late food & drinks the ESPN Sports Zone is right on the Boardwalk.

Boardwalk also has a great pool, with a nice water slide.

Sounds like you have booked yourself a winner!!!!
