I want to allow enough time so , I am hoping someone can give me a idea of time frame to allow. we paln to stay at a hotel and I think we can leave the car there for our trip duration. forgot the site name we need to book that yet!
First of we are flying out of Chicago-Ohare 12/18 flight is to leave at 8AM (2 adults & 4 kids keep that in mind) what time should we be at airport , is it 2 hours before flight still ?? Next once we get there and on the plane its suppose to land at 11:30am . how much time from off the plane to Magic express bus ? After get on bus about how long to get to POR maximum time it would take??? Check in takes how long approx. ?? Do I need to fax a request to get a ground floor room at POR ( alligator bayou is our location)? I have a crib reserved but i am honestly kinda creeped out by alot of other kids sleeping on it! she will have just turned 2 then. I wonder if I am better off with out the crib and her on the trundle bed or buying a airmattress instead. found a twin one at target for 20$.TIA ![]()

Re: help figuring out how much time from point A to B to etc etc
I think if you show up 90 minutes before your flight to Florida from O'hare, you should be OK, unless you've got extra stuff as carry on with your kids. I know nothing about DME. Once you arrive, check in could be 10-15 minutes, or, if there's a long line, it's going to be a while.
As for sleeping on the floor, I did that for about a year when I was first on the road and money was tight. There were 8 of us in two rooms and the singer got his own bed. I never liked sharing a bed with another man, so I took the floor. After a couple weeks, we picked up a 6 foot long 7 inch thick foam rubber pad, and I'll tell you, it was probably better than most of the beds. Plus, if your child's already on the floor, there isn't really anywhere to fall to.

They redesigned OLP and I had to look for a while. I'm not sure the Transport Wiz is helpful for times from airport to hotel. It's only internal travel around WDW, but it is a good thing to know about.

Re: help figuring out how much time from point A to B to etc etc
I like to get ot the airport more than 2 hours before the flight but I'm that way about everything, I hate being late.
We have used Magical Express twice. One time we were at our resort about 75 minutes after touching down and the other time it took 47 minutes to get from the plane to our resort. Plan on 90 minutes and you should be good. Depending on the line check in should take about 30 minutes. I don't believe the resorts taking faxed requests these days, I think they had to stop that. Call and have it added to your reservation and you should be good. Remind the CM at check in if you need to.

Re: help figuring out how much time from point A to B to etc etc
When we went in June, we asked for the crib. At least at ASMo, the crib turned out to be a pack-n-play. We used our own sheets and sprayed the heck out of it with Lysol before I would put our DS in it.
The times you have been given look good to us. 90 minutes in Chicago. 90 minutes from plane touching down till you are at POR. 30 minutes to check in. Yes, we were told the resorts do not look at the faxes anymore. Have it noted in your reservation. Worked for us.

Re: help figuring out how much time from point A to B to etc etc
Ive used the cribs and PAck and play types before with no issue at all. The kids are rolling all over the floor and they are not steamed after each use, why over worry about it? Every thing in that room may have been touched prior, plus all of the ride and theater seats, restaurant chairs and benches. My experiences on air matteress are sketchy at best.

Re: help figuring out how much time from point A to B to etc etc
We fly out of O Hare often. I would get there two hours early. Sometimes the security lines are long. Sometimes they are short. Sometimes the check in lines are long, sometimes short. We always get there two hours before our flight. Sometimes we have an hour to kill and sometimes we don't.
We have used magic Express twice, ( other times we rented a car) it took about 60-90 minutes to get off the plane to the bus and to the hotel. Have fun! |
