Icon5 Help!!!!!!!!!

We have added two days onto our existing 9 day orlando vacation. We are staying at Orange Lake but tacked on a two day Saratoga Springs package before hand. Well now added another day on each end of the vacation.

On arrival we can stay at the POR FQ for $163 or the Dolphin for $6 more. Please keep in mind that we are NOT doing a park on the first day. Maybe TL or Fantasia mini golf. Which would you do? Traveling with a 5 yo and 8 yo and DH.

I think our day on the tail end will be a AS resort.

Any help, suggestions, etc....

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

It might be cooler for the little ones at the PORFQ. Since your first day will not be at a park, the FQ should have a lot of cool things for you to do there. You can also take the boat to DTD with little hassle.

I think I would be inclined to try the Dolphin then. $6 more makes it a wash. However, if you are thinking about using ME, then I think you might want to stay at POR/FQ.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

Depends on what you want to do with that day. If your little ones want to hang at the pool, maybe they'd prefer POFQ with that really cute theming.

If you go to Dolphin you're next door to mini golf and the Boardwalk. that pool is pretty awesome too.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

For a 6 dollar difference, I would go to the Dolphin. You can walk over to the mini golf, and you have the Boardwalk available to you also. While the pool at POFQ would be a little more fun for the kids, the pool at the Dolphin is also very nice.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

Wow, you will be staying at 4 different resorts this trip! Be sure to give reviews on all of them. I, too, have heard AWESOME things about Orange Lake! I will be there in August and plan to go over there to check it out on the recommendation from a friend!

OK, if you don't plan to go to the parks the first day, why not stay at the Dolphin? It is a nice hotel in a PERFECT location. You can enjoy the mini golf close by and also the Boardwalk!!! That's a nice way to spend the evening!

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

I'm a huge POR fan, which usually leans me towards POFQ....BUT....since you are not doing the parks, I think I'd go with the Dolphin because of it's awesome location!!! Not only do you have the BW and mini-golf as others have mentioned, but you could also hop aboard a Friendship Boat just for the ride if you were looking for something to do!

Have fun deciding!

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

Hmm, I'd probably go with the Dolphin for only $6 more, especially if you want to do Mini-golf like you said you might. And you could always hit up Beaches and Cream for a sundae or rent a surrey bike. Fun, fun!

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

Ok here is the final (well almost final) plan. First night is at PORFQ, then to SS for two days, Orange Lake River Island for a week, then ending it off with a stay at AS Music.

We needed the magical express which is one of the reasons we did not want to stay at the Dolphin although the location is ideal.

We have never stayed at OL but my SIL owns there and enjoys it. I had to extend my stay because I got airfare for 4 for $450 instead of 1200 and jumped on it. Figured if we drove we would be gone the same amount of time.

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

I almost stayed at POR last year, but opted for SSR, but I would choose Dolphin I think, mini golf and the Boardwalk are right there close by.

I agree!!!! I have never stayed at the Dolphin, but visited many times. Its worth the extra $6.

I wondered if you were using ME, since the Dolphin does not participate in that. I think you made a good choice!

For only a night, I would go to just an all stars. Why pay more at a moderate or swan/dolphin?

Re: Help!!!!!!!!!

I think it sounds like a great trip! we stayed at orange lake last october - my only problem - they said it was no pressure, but they were pretty obnoxious about the attending a timeshare presentation (even tho we are on his grandpas and that's how we stayed there). anyway....it was a beautiful resort, very close to WDW, very close to grocery store & highway! have fun!
