Port Orleans Poll

Okay so now that we have decided on Port Orleans I need to know which section is the best. I do realize that remodeling will have a major impact on our choices. Does anybody know which section they are doing next or when POFQ is scheduled to be done?? Also, how do you think Port Orleans compares to CBR? We loved CBR!!

We love the POR. I first found it when we looked for a moderate resort that could sleep 5. For some reason it seems that this resort is the only moderately priced resort that sleeps more than 4 in a room. We have stayed in the Alligator Bayou section and the Magnolia Bend section. We prefer Magnolia Bend. It is located in the buildings right behind the main building, just across the river. That makes walking to the main building and main bus stop convenient.

We have never stayed at CBR so I cannot comment on that resort.

I voted for Riverside.
I have never been there, but I am starting to feel like I know these resorts pretty well after doing all this research and reading here on DC.

wellllll I voted go back to CBR, POR was nice but heck we live in the pineywoods area of Texas so it wasnt much like being away from home really, where we felt staying at CBR was like being there :) But we did like Alligator Bayou

We've stayed at Magnolia Bend and French Quarter and I think I like FQ better. The reason is it's a smaller resort so the buildings were closer to the food court. The pool is cool for the kids too. POR feels too big and impersonal to me.

I have stayed in the magnolia mansions and I am hoping to get a room in the Alligator Bayou. POR is my favorite moderate resort.

we have stayed at both the Mansions and the Bayou. The Mansions were perfect for our romantic anniversary vacation. alittle imagination and it's back to the "Gone with the Wind" era. they bayou was fun also. But we were glad our first experience was the Mansions.

POR/French Quarter

We really loved the FQ when we stayed there this past February. It is a smaller resort, more intimate than Riverside. It was an easy walk to the Food Court, pool, boat to Downtown Disney, and the one bus stop. Worth noting: the buses from the parks stop at FQ first, so you will be the first to board before they pick up passengers at Riverside. Riverside has 4 or 5 bus stops. On return trips, the buses again will stop at FQ first, which means you will be the first to drag your weary bodies back to your rooms! :p I know that FQ is closed now for renovations; I'm not sure when they are reopening. Just wanted to add my two cents!

Wow, this is a tough decision apparently we can't wrong. I guess construction and closures will decide for us!
