Anyone ever make a room request and get it !!!!......Need reassurance!!!
Hiya~
I am staying at the Boardwalk starting this weekend (arriving on sunday). I sent a room request by fax yesterday. Do you think I waited to long or sent it too early???? My mom is the DVC member so she sent the request. Have you ever sent a request and had it met???? We requested a boardwalk view and I know this is hard to get but we would be so HAPPY if we did!!! We will be happy no matter what but would just be thrilled if our request goes through. We have been waiting to get this view at the boardwalk for 2 years!!! Since we went by their in may 2001!! Anyway, Have you done this before and actually gotten it??? I am going stir crazy waiting for the Fax back!!!! Let me know what you think :D

I did!!!
On our trip in January, we requested a BoardWalk view and actually got it! The sad part is...the standard view was a better view. One night of our stay was in a standard room, with an incredible view of Epcot and the manicured gardens. Once we were upgraded to the BoardWalk view (over Flying Fish) the view was nice, but not as nice as watching Illuminations from my own balcony. It was lovely in the morning..the BoardWalk is so peaceful. And it was nice to look across the Lake at the Yacht and Beach Clubs. Good luck!

I send in faxes daily for clients, and we usually get what we request. Personally, I have always gotten what I wanted. I never request a specific room, but a location, and have never had any problems at all. Last December at the Poly, they had given away our room, but they noticed the request when we checked in and she found us a room where we wanted, third floor balcony to boot.
Oh, and don't hold your breath for a fax back, you won't get it. You should be fine, but make sure you remember what you requested so that you can ask again at check in.

The reason I want to is b/c we sent our fax to the front desk of BWV and not the room controller :nervous OPPS!! Really though thanks bunches!!! Deah ![]()

I think you faxed it at just the right time. I did the same as you last year and got the exact room we wanted at The AKL.
Have a great trip !!!!!!

Deah, another vote for always getting our request, never a confirmation. We did have the Room Assignor come over and tell me she remembered my request personally, which made me feel really good. Nice to know you've been 'heard.'
Can you imagine how much time it would take to answer 100's of requests a day? LOL! Personally speaking, when it gets down to my last few days, I'm a royal basket case. I pack and unpack a kajillion times, worry over the littlest things (like my room request). Relax, pop in a Disney vacation video, and just imagine yourself there. :D

Are you staying in the villas on DVC points? If so, your view is governed by your points. There are two views, standard and preferred. I believe the preferred view overlooks the boardwalk area. Specific requests are noted at the time of reservation as they try to fulfill them based on the reservation-made/request-made date.
Have fun! |

Yes we are staying on my mothers poits. We requested preferred view at the time of the reservations but not baordwalk view. My mom sent the reservations and forgot to add that. I was told to wait until a few days before, when they actually start assigning rooms, to make that request. I hope I did the right thing by waiting :nervous.
I will let you all know when I write the trip report!!! Thanks!! Deah :D

I just e-mailed guest services and they e-mailed back and stated that they would contact the particular hotel for me and make the request for the specifics we wanted.
