Some ME questions!!

I just have a couple magical express questions that I hope you guys can help with.

First, how long is it taking to get to the resort from the airport?

And How long is it taking to get your bags? We have Hoop dee doo ressies at 7 and want to go over a little early to look around but I am going to want to change, hoping they will be there by 4pm. We land at 1.

Can't help you with the ME, except I know it goes around to all the resort and drops off passengers, starting with the Deluxe, Moderate and then Value.

We were just at the Hoop Dee Doo Revue in July, and we did the same thing . . . went early to explore, but just so you don't feel too rushed, there isn't much to see?

You take a bus up to the area where the Hoop Dee Do is, and there are the stables where they keep some of the parade animals, but by the time we got there (4pm) most everything was closed. There is a General Store Gift shop, and you can walk down to the lake and see the boats . . . but other then that NOT MUCH to see.

About 15 minutes before you go into the show, they line everyone up to take a Family Photo, which is optional . . . so you might want to get in line for that.

So, landing at 1pm, I think you'll have plenty of time to make it to the hotel get changed and then over to Ft. Wilderness. BTW, you are going to love the show . . . lots of fun . . . go hungry too . . . they pile on the food.

Driving time from the airport to your resort is about 45minutes if you count in the other stops and such. It will be less time if you are the first stop...not by much. This is not including the time you wait to get on the bus, check in for ME etc....it took me almost 2hours to get to my resort from the time we landed. As for my bags, they were there right after us at about the 3 hours after landing mark. I suggest taking a carry-on bag with a change of clothes just in case your luggage isn't there when you are ready to leave for HDDR

YES, last time I booked the ME for my parents, when I was speaking to the CM, they told me to have them do this as well . . . and don't forget to include any medications or toiletries you might need.

I would defiantely bring your clothes for HDD and essential things you will need for that night in your carryon. You never know how long it will take your luggage to get to you.

When we took ME to the Contemporary - we got right onto the bus with no wait at all, but then we sat in the parking spot for a 1/2 hour waiting for the bus to fill up! Luckily we were the 1st stop!

Last time we used it we were to our Resort so much quicker than that!

Oh well, as long as we are there around 3. The kids want to swim before Hoop Dee Doo! I was hoping to be there and be checked in by around 2:30, but it is sounding more like 3:30.

I guess I need to go grab an outfit and swimsuit for everyone just in case!

It took us an hour from the time we got off the plane to when we got on the bus- but we were an extreme case since the line to check in and then the line to get on the bus was very long- then you figure an hour depending on the bus as they dont all go to just one resort- there may be a stop at a resort before yours. Im giving you worst case scenarios so that you have extra time instead of rushing.

We stayed at AKL landed at noon, checked in at 3 and did not have our luggage until after dinner which was ressied for 5. Apparently my passporter was good for something after all! LOL

We always pack a carryon with one days worth of clothes, for just in case! It doesn't hurt.

We used ME twice, and we had two totally different experiences as far as time and service. I think if you have a carry on with the stuff you will need, you will be good to go no matter what!

I am thinking it could be bad because it is a Saturday!

I hope we are somewhere in the middle of worst case and best case

!! Oh well we will be heading for Disney so it's all good!!!!

I was so stressed out because I had best case on the brain never expecting what we ran into- then to have dropoffs at CSR on our way to AKL was just odd to me. They had so many arriving at once I was surprised that they did not have a desk to check them in and a bus just to transport them to CSR and let the rest of us have a "normal" experience.

Just a quick story from us. We always use DME. However, this December, we arrived at MCO around 11 am. We checked in at WL and hung around for a while. I was getting ancy when our luggage still hadn't arrived by 4 pm and we had ressies at Artist Point at 530pm. Obviously, being one of the "dressier" restaurants, I was freaking out that we would not be admitted because of the dress code, and it was too late to get a ressie anywhere else (and trust me, we tried). In the end, the manager at AP told us not to worry and honored our reservation anyway. Not only that, but because of our worrying and waiting for our luggage, they sent us out some yummie desserts and a balloon bouquet for my daughter, on the house!

So, even though it worked out for us, the moral of this story is, I wouldn't depend on DME to get your luggage there that fast. I would heed all the previous advice and carry a change of clothes in the carry on!

You can just pick up your bags from the baggage claim at the airport and take them on the bus. (Don't use the ME tags.) That way they will be there with you - or at least in holding at the resort until your room is ready.

Both times we used ME we were off the plane and in our hotel within an 1 1/2hours. Never had to wait for a bus and always left within 10 minutes of getting on the bus. We were always the first stop of three. I am not sure how long on the luggage though. We always hit the parks and get in late and our luggage is there.
