Boardwalk Elevators/grocery shopping
Are there some issues concerning the elevators at the Boadwalk Villas? How convenient are they when you want to go down to the pool area, or to the boardwalk?
Is it a good idea to call a week in advance to request a location near the elevators? When we stay at OKW, we usually go to the Winn-Dixie grocery store just off Disney property. The prices are much better. My question is....Is there a major grocery store near Boardwalk, but off the property? Thanks for any help.....Jane |

I haven't stayed at the BWV, but, I can tell you that there is only 1-set of elevators. And it could be a very long walk from your room depending on where you are located.
I would call ASAP and request a room near the elevator and also fax a request in to the room assignor a few days before your arrival to reiterate your request. Sorry I can't help with the grocery store question, but I am sure someone will soon. Good Luck!!

Yes, there are one set of elevators, and they are centrally located to the lobby and the pool area. There are also some stairways that will give you access to the pools. We stayed two rooms from the end right over the boardwalk, and it was a good two minute walk from the elevators, and the stairway led to the other side of the resort, behind Jelly Rolls, so a long walk to the Boardwalk. If you want to be near the elevators, make sure you request that. I don't think there are any grocers closer to Boardwalk than the Goodings store and the others in that area.

TIP: If you have a stroller take it with you (NOT the Kids, LOL) to the grocery store so that when you return you can roll your groceries back to your room. That way you're not carrying a case of soda, etc!! If you don't have a stroller, the bellmen can help with a luggage cart -- just give them a small tip!
