Wilderness Lodge room request

We booked our room and requested a standard view, non-smoking bunk bed room. I assume that it is a guarantee to get these types of reguests right?? I wasn't picky with a specific location or anything. Just asking because I don't want to get my DD's hopes up about the bunk bed if there is no guarantee. I guess it might be best to just try to let it be a surprise but I already showed her some photos online and she got really excited. Funny, one of her favorite things about the Poly was having her own little daybed! Go Figure!

If you ask for a bunk bed room, it is guaranteed, not a request, similar to the smoking request. You shouldn't have any problem getting the bunk bed room, though you may want to remind them with a fax a couple of days prior to leaving.

Not to disagree, but requesting a bunk bed room is a request and not guaranteed at either the WL and AKL. The only things guaranteed at WDW are when there is a particular rate tied to the choice, such as room view and king-sized beds in the moderates. Your WL room rate is for a standard view room. Nothing ties that rate to the bedding configuration.

A request for a non-smoking room is also a request, not a guarantee, unless you have a medical reason requiring such a room.

Disney does its best in fulfilling your requests, but they are unable to do so for all guests.

Thanks. I'm wishing you're correct Mickey! I was told on another trip that a non-smoking room was a guarantee but wasn't sure about the bedding. I'll follow up with a fax like you suggested though.

Well, technically, nothing is guaranteed at WDW. I book WL rooms daily and a bunk room is as good of a guarantee as you will get. I have never had a client book a bunk room and received anything less. Even when you speak to the CRO, they classify the bunk rooms differently than the other rooms.

Okay, as of yesterday I am thinking of changing from POR to WL because of the newest discount. I know there are several types of rooms to pick from. I am thinking of booking a standard room (cheapest) with no real view. Will I be happy with this or should I just stop stressing about money and go for a view?

Background: I am going with my inlaws (haven't been to WDW in almost 20 years) who always just say "What ever you want Steph, we're going with you so we don't have to worry about the details". We are also the type of people who spend much of the time in the parks.

The rooms are basically the same. I think the price difference over 7 days (well, 4 days) is about $80. Is it worth it? I don't know. The standard view rooms are fine, the higher up you get, the more like woods view rooms they are. Personally, I would just save the $80 and spend it on a Pal Mickey and a nice lunch.

Thanks Mickey, I think I will do just that. I am just excited to get such a great deal at a deluxe and finally stay at one.
