Poly Room Request

Does anyone have any suggestions as to room requests for Poly? I checked out Tikiman website and am still quite confused. I was wondering if anyone with small children has any input as to a longhouse to request. My DD is 3 so I'm guessing closeness to quiet pool and GCH would be best. Would GREATLY appreciate help, kinda going crazy over this one!!!! P.S. - We have a garden view room.

Hi SSN, I have been driving myself crazy with this same choice!
I have decided on Aotearoa or Tuvalu because then we'll be near the GCH, the boat launch, the beach, and the marina. Being close to the TTC wasn't as important to me as the GCH. Plus I want non-smoking. What do you think?

Hi there...actually I had totally decided that Aoetera was my 1st choice (the north side-not monorail side) I too don't care much about closeness to TTC. But, I read last night that Samoa is now non-smoking and refurbishment has been completed. I'm not sure if this is positively true (the non-smoking part) but felt that if it is true Samoa is in a good location (close proximity to pools, GCF and beach) The only downside is I don't think there is ANY chance of getting a glimpse at the lagoon as you might with Aoetera (I have no idea how to spell this!!!) So...I was hoping that someone who has stayed at the resort might be able to help us out!!!

Does anyone know what date Presiden't Day falls on in 2004? If we arrived Feb. 11th are we going to be squashed by large crowds?

Monday Feb. 16, 2004 is President's Day.
As for the Poly longhouse choice, I would suggest Tokelau for a good nonsmoking location. Request a room on the side facing the pool closest to the beach end.

I called Poly and Samoa is non-smoking now. We are going to request either Samoa or my wife is interested in Figi.

I can vouch for Tuvalu... We loved it. The view looking over the lagoon out to the castle the fireworks were going off and the electrical parade on the water. The walk was very short to the marinia, pool are and the GCH. We loved it.

I posted a new thread before I saw this one. Tuvalu seems like the best location, but I read that it is partly smoking and that the views of the MK are partly blocked by Beachcomber Island. Is that true?

I can't remember the exact room# I know that we were on the 3rd floor and our view was awesome there was nothing blocking our view at all...The wedding Pavillion was right to the left of us and then the GF.
It was awesome.

Just returned from the Poly 8 hours ago. We stayed at Niue and had a great 1st floor room facing the GCH. Samoa is indeed a non-smoking room and is also in a great location with the Volcano pool to the west and the quiet pool to the east side. I would recommend it highly.:)

To kind of piggy-back onto this thread, last night I booked a Fairytale Vacation package to WDW with my stay being at the Poly. How soon after I do this can (or should) I call back and (1) let them be aware that this is my honeymoon in case they want to do anything special for me, and (2) request a non-smoking room close to the GCH?

I would go ahead and call today to add your non-smoking request. You can also mention you want a room close to GCH but I would recommend faxing a request 2 days prior for a specific longhouse. You might want to visit http://www.tikiman2001.homestead.com/ and read about the different longhouses . Tokelau is centrally located and offers some views of the lagoon. From what others posted above, Samoa sounds like it is nonsmoking now and newly refurbished. That would be a good choice. When looking at the map, stay to the right of the volcano pool for the best locations. The left side of the pool is close to luau cove and can be noisy at night. The right side is closer to TTC in case you are interested in going to Epcot. You can take the monorail directly to Epcot from there.

Welcome back PiratesFan!
