Icon5 All Star Movies Bus Service

It has been a while since I have stayed at the All Star Movies and I wanted to know if this resort has it's own buses to the theme parks or if it has to share with the other All Star Resorts? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

hi there,
I have not stayed in an All-Star resort as yet but I have just looked up about the buses for these resorts in my Unofficial Guide and it states in there that the All-Stars resorts all share a bus with the pick up and drop off being in this following order:
Sports, Music and lastly Movies.

Hope this helps

Yes they do share. Sometimes it is just way to crazy. We always rent a car much more easy and convenient.

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

I stayed at the All Star Movies last week. When you are dropped off via Disney's Magical Express, then yes, you share with all three resorts. As for the bus shuttles from the parks to the hotel (and vice versa), you actually only share with one other hotel. I'm pretty sure it was the All Star Music we shared with. Sports, for whatever reason, would get its own bus I guess...

Movies is still the last of the two to get dropped off, but at least you don't have to stop at three...

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

For my 2 last trip...most of the buses were shared with the other 2 but on some nights we actually got direct to the Movie resort.

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

We're staying at ASsports, so either way would be ok. Our own bus would be great, but pick-up and drop-off first is ok too. That way we should be guaranteed a seat.

Although, If we are drop-off first I might be willing to give up my seat since we wouldn't have to stand as long.

Yep, it was: Sports - Music - Movies in that order.

Just know that the pick-up/drop offs at the parks are among the farthest-away from the entrances

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

It shares with Music and Sport.....Its ok to use to travel to the parks during the day....However if you go anywhere after 3:00pm take your car.....much faster......Went to Wishes and was back to music in less than 20 min...

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

The bus system at the All Star Resorts is very dynamic and changes as passenger load requires throughout the day and night except for the MK.

The MK has dedicated buses to and from each individual All Star Resort (Sports, Music and Movies). The MK has separate bus stops for each of the All Star Resorts. So no matter what time of day or night, you’ll always get an “express” bus to and from the MK at each All Star Resort.

During the morning rush to the parks, each All Star Resort will often have dedicated buses going directly from the resort to each park. As the passenger load decreases, then the buses begin to pick up at multiple resorts.

As an example, if an Epcot bus pulls into the stop at Sports and fills up with passengers, that bus goes directly to Epcot and other buses are dispatched to pick up the Epcot passengers at Music and Movies. Depending upon the passenger load at Music and Movies, they could each get a designated bus or they might share a single bus. The buses stage each morning in a parking lot at All Star Music and are dispatched as needed to meet the demand.

So, the answer is Monique, maybe yes and maybe no!

Thanks BudgetMan! This information is very helpful. I guess my other question would be park to resort buses. I see that you state that MK has individual boarding stations for all of the All Star Resorts. What about the other parks?

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

If you are going at a busy time I would highly recommend a rental car. We were at ASMo a few weeks ago and we decided to rent a car since we knew it would be hot and crowded. We were so happy that we did since the bus lines at the hotel were always so long.

All of the other parks just have an “All Star” stop for all the resort buses. You know which bus is yours by reading the bus electronic marquee.

Also, Epcot had dedicated bus stops for each of the All Stars (just like the MK) several years ago but they found (based upon passenger load) that they didn’t need the separate stops.

The MK is the most visited park at WDW and therefore it commands the most buses. With Epcot about to celebrate its 25th anniversary, they might once again have separate bus stops for each of the All Stars if passenger demand requires (as is the case at MK).

Re: All Star Movies Bus Service

Only MK has dedicated buses for each of the All Stars, and even then, sometimes, two resorts get combined. The other parks all have shared All Star Resort buses. Further, the Studios bus is also routed through Blizzard Beach and the DTD bus is routed through Typhoon Lagoon.

The worst of all would be Port Orleans to any park other than MK. French Quarter has it's own MK bus, but every other bus makes the FQ stop and then 4 stops in Riverside before moving on to the destination. At least FQ gets dropped off first for all but the DTD bus, when it is last.
