Travel Times Between Resorts / Airport

We're staying at a Ft Wilderness cabin the week of May 23 - 31. We arrive at 5:46 PM and plan to eat at Whispering Canyon that evening. What is a reasonable amount of time to get to the resort, get checked into our cabin, and get to the Wilderness Lodge? They have a PS at 8:10 PM. Can we make it in that amount of time? What is the best way to get from the cabins to the Lodge?

Also, are some cabins better than others? Can we request specific cabins?

I would already have this done but our original arrival time was 2:10 and time wasn't an issue.

Thanks,
Evan

You can do it, but don't dodle(spelling ) you may have to go straight to you PS and check in afterward. Are you getting a rental car? If so that will definately help. We are arriving at 4:00 p.m. 5/17 we always use dollar rental cars because they are located at the airport and if you rent from Alamo you have to wait for the shuttle to take you to the rental place then there is a line there and it has just been a nightmare in the past, so now we always use dollar no lines and no shuttles. Judging from previous driving times and taking into account waiting for baggage, getting the rental car, and getting DD situated in the rental car we should be at AKL by about 6:00 p.m. If you are renting a car make sure you bring plenty of change there are many toll roads. The first time we ever went we wound up having to stop at each one because we had to pay with cash and wait for change. I really wish someone had warned me about the toll roads:( .

Thanks for the information. We're taking Tiffany Towncar (we're not planning to leave the property so we're not renting).

From what I gather Tiffany Town Car is probably the absolute fastest way to get to your resort. No waiting for shuttles, no waiting in rental lines, and no stopping at tolls. I think you'll make it in plenty of time. Have fun!!:)

Alextina,

Just for your info. Alamo is now located in the terminal, right next to the National desk.
We used them in Feb. and had only about a 10-15 minute wait.

Graybill,

Hey thanks for the info. I used to always use Alamo they tend to have good discounts, the only reason I stopped using them is becuase I hated having to wait for the shuttle to go to the rental office and I hated having to head back to the airport 1-1 1/2 hours earlier than we really needed to just to make sure we got a shuttle back from the rental office to the airport.

Hi Evan,

What kind of rates do Tiffany Towncar offer? Do you know if they also provide shuttle from a Disney Resort to another Florida attraction?

I'm just now putting my planning hat on and I'd hate to rent a car if I only plan to go outside WDW for only one day.

THANKS!!!!
