All Star Vacation Homes

I was wondering if anyone had rented a condo from All Star Vacation Homes before? I know that it is not like staying on-site at WDW. We are going to Orlando in October and plan to split our time between Universal and WDW. I can't justify spending the extra to stay inside WDW while we are at Universal. I checked prices for splitting our reservations and staying inside both parks for our stay but that just doesn't add up either. The condo looks perfect and we will be able to have a lot more room and cook some meals to boot. Any ideas? If I had my way we wouldn't even bother with Universal but I'm out voted 3 to 1 this time.

Randy:)

I haven't rented from All Star Vacation Homes but may I offer a remark on a great off site condo? We stayed at the Sheraton Vistana Resort in 2001 and it was very nice. Roomy condo with full kitchen, washer dryer 2 br. 2 ba. and a sleeper sofa. Beware of the older units though and if you give them a try, definately ask for a newer unit! Nice resort with great amenities! There is also a Sheraton Vistana Villages which are a totally different property and newer.

Yes you may. Thanks for the info. I'll be checking our Sheraton Vistana before we make any plans. The other Sheraton resort appears to be near International Dr., I'll be checking out that one too.

Thanks:D

I rented a 7 bedroom house from All Star Vacations this April for a business meeting and it was great, worked out perfect for us. I plan to use them again when my family has a reunion in orlando in 2005. However, it I was just going with the 4 people in my direct family I would highly recommend Sheraton Vistana Villages. We stayed there twice in 2002 (a week each time) and it was great. We had a two bedroom unit and the kids loved the room. In is a fairly new resort so all the rooms are in pretty good shape and they are all near the pool. Location wise it is past the congested sections of International Drive and a real easy 10 minute drive to Disney World. Also has easy access to I-4 and takes about 10 minutes to Universal. It is really close to Sea World (only a couple of minutes) and also just down the block from my favorite outlet mall (the premium outlet mall). Hope this helps.

Thanks GoofyDad!

I'll check it out. We may just go ahead and stay inside Universal and WDW though. But it is sooooo expensive. My tight-wad meter pegs everytime I add up the cost of that option. I'm trying to figure out if the "coolness" of staying inside justifies the pricetag. seems to depend on who you ask.

I have that same cost/benefit meter going. Last year they were practically giving Vistana Villages away ($99 per night plus 7th night free for a two bedroom) and just could not pass it up. This year however the Fairytale package just loooks like too good a bargain and we are going in August and staying in WDW at the Polynesian.

I couldn't agree more about Vistana Resort (right outside of WDW/Downtown Disney). I own timeshare there, and absolutely LOVE it! If you stay there, like someone else here said, make sure you stay in the new section of the resort (Lakes and Cascades). The other sections, while just as nice, are a bit older and you will have better accomodations with the new sections. It is just a hop, skip and a jump away from WDW...it will take you 2 minutes to get to the entrance of DTD...I think it is 1 or 2 traffic lights down, if I am not mistaken! It's a great place...can you tell I love it?

Also, Vistana Villages is the newer resort, but it is further away...closer to Universal. And the property is A LOT smaller than the original Vistana. People who have stayed there said they didn't like it in comparison to Vistana Resort.

Good luck with whatever you decide. You will be just as happy with the accomodations if you stay in a condo...it's just the location you have to think about!
