Poly vs WL; Poly Lagoon View
We are planning a vacation for October and were originally going to stay at WL, but the Fairytale vacation package has us thinking about Poly. We would like a view of the MK, water parade. It looks like Hawaii building is the best, but not sure if the $424 add'l cost is worth the concierge rate? If we don't go with the concierge, which building has the best lagoon view. Tahiti building looks too far away from everything else. I have a 4 & 6 year old and my husband is recovering from a stroke, so we don't want to have the added walking. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Sleeping Beauty and Welcome!!!:D
Having never stayed at the WL, my vote goes to the Poly. The congierge is very nice. But worth the cost, it was to us, but not to some of our friends. We like the fact that if you have the muchies or are thirsty you can run up and get some food or drinks. Otherwise you are paying 2.00 a coke at the machine. I also like the extra touches,i.e. the nightly turn down service, having a special congierge host help you with reservations. But if you don't want the added the charge, the poly is beautiful. One more thing it is on the monorail loop. This is great. Check out the tikimans webite. www.tikiman2001.homestead.com. He has maps of the poly to help you pick out your house. Janelle

I too vote for the Poly. One thing you should know is that currently, Hawaii is the concierge building, but it will be closed in June and concierge will be moved over to Tahiti. When you pay for a concierge room, you will be assigned a room in whichever building is the concierge building at the time. If it is still in Tahiti when you go, the views of the MK are much better from there than anywhere else on property. Also, it is my favorite building since it is so close to the Ticket and Transportation Center. It is much quicker to get to the parks from there than from the resort.

I think you will have better luck on the ground floor, though I don't know if it will make a lot of difference. I personally would go for a second floor room, high enough to get away from tall bushes and low enough to be away from the tree tops. The second and third floor rooms have balconies. Rooms 1015-1028 were smoking rooms that are now non-smoking, though that may be temporary. I know that the rooms around x033 (1033, 2033 and 3033) are great. Other than that, you take your chances. Even if you have a room that is partially blocked by a tree, you can still see most of the things to see.

Add another vote for the Poly! We stayed in the Hawaii concierge longhouse in Sept. 2002 and loved it!! We had a garden view but if I had my choice and money wasn't an issue, I'd definately go for the lagoon view on the ground floor! For us it was definately worth the extra cost as we ate b-fast there nearly every morning, mid-day cookies & drinks and desserts every night. The water bottles, juices, milk and soft drinks alone saved us a lot of $$. Plus, they gave us a stroller to use every day at the parks (fee of charge) and booked all of our PS's (even CRT!). We felt so pampered!

Here's another vote for the Poly. I dont know much about the other buildings but we stayed in Tulva (I think thats how it's spelled) and the view was awesome. We were on the 3rd floor and there was no view obstructions at all. We over looked the lagoon and right at the castle. To be able to sit there on the balcony and watch the fireworks over the castle and the water parade was so magical and I still cant get over it.
You'll love the POLY ENJOY :)
