PiratesFan - Day 1
Day 1, Sunday, May 4
Hello all! Just got back this afternoon from a great trip. The weather was very hot, mostly low to mid 90's with high humidity for the entire 7 day trip. This really disappointed me since I had been tracking the weather prior to travelling and saw highs of mid 80's to lows in the mid 60's. Not so when we arrived. I was hoping to avoid such energy draining temps so we would be able to stay in the parks longer and not stress out my two DD's, 3 and 5. The first week in Dec is looking pretty good for the next trip! This trip was a first for us by not leaving WDW property one we arrived. It was great to keep the Disney magic alive 24/7, literally.:laugh My only peeve was the WDW water. Does Disney add swamp flavor to the water to get you to fork over $2.50 for a bottlle? They really need to improve in this area. After a stop at Goodings for some water, juice, and a few other items, we arrived at the Poly around 1pm and were able to immediately get a great 1st floor room in Niue facing the GCH. We got settled into the room and then went to lunch at the Kona Cafe. I had the Big Kahuna Burger with an iced tea. We then headed out to the MK around 3pm. We immediately wanted to take in the sights and catch a few rides. We did HM first with no wait, then PoC with a 5min wait, Aladin's Magic Carpets, and then did some long awaited shopping. The kids got some Minnie and Pirate hats embroidered and were pretty excited about finally being there after a year of being pumped up. MK closed at 7pm so we went back to the Poly, saw the 9pm water pageant, and then prepared for an early rise for the Day 2 in the MK. ;pirate:
