After booking my 11/22-11/29/03 WDW trip through AAA, our AAA rep tells us "Oh, too bad you didn't wait a month to book it. We just had a AAA meeting about some Disney resort discounts coming in May or June." Ok, first of all, I'm a young guy with a moderate salary, and I just shelled out a couple grand for this trip! Don't tell me I should have waited for the discounts! My heart sank when I heard that. Anyway, enough of my ranting!

I'm not sure what kind of discounts or when they're happening, but it might be worth a call to your AAA office. If I can't take advantage of the discounts, hopefully one of you can!

Actually, now that I think about it, is Disney willing to offer discount rates even after you've already purchased a package?

If you reserved a room at WDW CRO, you can telephone and change the discount. I believe you can do it with WDW Travel Co. also. If you made your travel plans via a travel agency, you should contact your travel agent.

mtomei, I booked my rooms last fall (about September) and just called and added the discount to my room. Nothing to it. I don't think it matters if it is CRO or WDTC (as long as you are at least 45 days out) the codes can be used after the rooms are booked.

One thing to remember is that AAA is a reseller of Disney travel, so that any discounts that they release do not correspond to any Disney discounts, and the other way around. I have found in the past the every once and a while you can get good discounts through them during busy season, but during other times, prices directly through Disney are usually much less.

Do you mean prices directly through Disney are cheaper than AAA prices when you use a discount code? From what I saw, buying a package through AAA was cheaper than getting the same package through Disney without any discount codes. (when I was planning my trip, I didn't know about discount codes.)

This happens to us all before finding DC! I booked my trip and found out later there were discounts codes, oh well at least I know for my trip in March. From what I've seen going thru Disney or a Disney only Travel Agent is cheaper with discounts than anyway else. It definetly wouldn't hurt to check!

Mike, while that doesn't always hold true, it is true most of the time. I have had people contact us at Mouseketrips who have a quote from AAA, and we can always beat it by about 35% or more. Of course, that depends upon discounts and timing.
