Ok I want updates on CBR ..we havent been there since 1994 or 95, We had planned to stay there last year but ended up surprising our granddaughters with a stay at AKL. so what has changed in the last 9 years? are there still mini bars in the rooms? are the coffee pots still there? DH wondered if the food court has changed. I know back when we first stayed the bikes were free to use as part of a package. I think the paddle boats were too then. heck back in 92 we could even keep the girls life jackets in the room with us during the entire stay. I am really excited about going back. Just like everyone here on DC has thier favorite resort .. in my family we all have a favorite, and CBR is mine :)

We stayed there in April 2002 and they had coffee pots. As far as a mini-bar... not sure exactly what you mean. In the bathroom vanity area there was a shelf above the clothes bar that had an ice bucket, cups & coffee maker. But, no mini frig or anything like that. We never rented bikes but I don't think they were free... same with the paddle boats.

the mini bars were next to the tables .. they were full of cokes, candy, adult beverages and the coffee. I am not surprised they are gone ..when we first stayed there we werent charged for it till we checked out .. the next time we stayed they asked for payment when it reached $50.00. one of the funniest things involving the mini bar at the CBR was one year that my daughter went .. DH watched the girls in the room while Mary and I went to P.I. for an evening ...his idea of babysitting them though was to give them the key to the mini bar .. we had a $200.00 bill for it that year!!

I bet he never did that again!!! So funny. The minibars would be great. Too bad they did away with them. We did rent a frig there for $10 per day but it was really old and never really got cold.

I stayed in CBR in March, 2003.

The minibars are gone from the CBR rooms. My room did have a coffeee pot. Bikes and boats cost $$. They restructured the food court so there is now one central cashier area. The food stands are still in place. Everyone can select what they want from the various options and then meet up at the cashier to check out together.

The new sit-down restaurant, Shutters, is now located at the far end of the food court. It is a wonderful restaurant. You might want to try it one night.

Tink we stayed at CBR in March 2003 as well and LOVED it. I had never stayed there before so I can't comment on the differences but it was GREAT! wdwig.com has some pretty good shots of CBR you should check it out if you haven't already. I personally thought the food in the court was very good! The sand bucket kids meal is great and the kids get to keep the bucket and shovel.

I did go look at wdwig. Its great about the sandbuckets, the last time we were there I think all the kids got were plastic cups and free cookies / fruit with the meal.
