I wonder where they came up with 179 for courtyard. It could be a misprint. I am glad you were able to save some money though!

The just quoted me $234 a night for WL courtyard view.
I passed when they quoted me AKL for $175 a night. I decided that I could use the $195 more, although it'll go on food anyway.

Some of the deluxe prices are decent, but the values are much pricier. I am looking forward to when the AP rates get a little better again.

(You can't use both AP and free dine).

Yes, for a standard view.
They also warn guests about the construction and the fact that you might see people working. Doesn't really bother me that much, not for a couple days. Besides, depending on how things are, it could even make getting a no cost upgrade to a partial savanna view easier.
If I'd known about these rates days ago, I might have been able to get standard view at the WL for the same price.

Was the standard view sold out at WL when you tried to book it or did you only want a courtyard view?

No, I wanted standard view and all that was available at passholder rates at WL are courtyard view. I didn't want to spend close to $800 for 3 days when I could pay around $600. Money is getting tight for everyone these days.
The room rates were about $60 more for courtyard per day, plus 12% sales and bed tax. That breaks out to $262.08 per night with tax or $786.24 for WL courtyard versus $604 for AKL standard room. These rates would be similar for Savanna view at AKL and standard view at WL .

I'm feeling extra lucky because we got the AP rate for a standard view at WL. I wonder if it helped we already had a standard view booked. I know its not a given that just because you have a room booked and an AP rate comes out you can apply it so I guess we got lucky.

I think so too. I love it when things work out so well. I had given up on getting discount this close to our trip so this was a nice surprise for us.
